Inanimate Thinking

The Kween_of_Queens has issued an interesting challenge to start off the new month. It is to assume an inanimate object can actually think and to write something based on the thoughts of that object. So here we go.

I have served my Mistress for many years, and one thing I have learned about her is that she doesn't have a creative writing bone in her body. She even took a creative writing course once. What a waste.

Don't misunderstand me. My Mistress has a lot of skills, and she can generally write well, just so long as she's dealing with a subject that is rooted in real life. By that I mean she can set down on paper all the details of a murder she has researched, but don't ask her to dream up a plot for a murder which develops over a period of time, and don't ask her to find a really creative way to actually commit the murder or ask her to plan the perfect crime. She can't do it, and believe you me, having helped her with her writing through the years, I know what I'm talking about.

It doesn't have to be a murder either, she can't even dream up a simple child's story, a fairy-tale or something. Better to let her write about real things that she knows something about. Everyone may not like the result, but at least she won't keep dropping me on the soft spot on my head, and my life (what's left of it) will be somewhat more productive. After all, there's just so much lead in a pencil you know.

So you're a reality dog, eh? Yeah, me too. Only I'd have to write from the perspective of my keyboard. I can't read my own writing.

Milady,

For someone who claims not to have a creative bone in her body, I think you've pulled this one off with flair!  Good job!  You have been *Starred* and linked!~Kween

Very neat how you didnt really mention what the object was till the end...leaving it up to us to figure out.  Very cool!

I really liked this entry! It was very creative and fun to read! I kept trying to figure out what the object was. My guess was a keyboard...great job! And I'm with you, I love writing real life stuff, but I am not too good with fictional writing. :)

Actually, at that point in time in CA, you didn't have to have car insurance. . .not by law, I did, but it really didn't cost very much.  Now, pfft. . .I'm really surprised anyone can drive!~K.K.
