my head keeps making school seem impossible to catch up with. Get it together! I think the fact that I found a handsome lad will help me. Hotness. And he's actually interested in me hardcore. Perhaps karma is apologizing to me for such an awful October. Tomorrow I need to go to the dmv and cta headquarters to get my upass. it's a good thing I found my lost new pack of cigarettes since I'm unable to buy them. hahaha. stupid stores for carding people under 40.

I had a crazy film shoot with my parents. They're the funnest actors in the world. I actually got them to have a dirt/leaf fight in the woods, boy did my mom get into it, and my dad ran around in crazy pants. priceless.

I'm taking my medication again. ewwww side effects.

I think I'm depressed...and losing my mind. I think I need to employ a permanent cuddle buddy to keep me warm at night and to play with my hair as I procrastinate on homework and the like, and rub my shoulders as I splice film in the editing lab...that would rule so hard. I dunno if that would help my fucked up brain chemistry, but hey, a little affection goes a long way I think...at least I could use a trial run or something. I had the nerve to take those depression screening tests. I actually had a high score for once, that's so lame. I just don't have time. No time. I need a vacation. I need to go to the desert. I need to ride a motorcycle. I need to stop whining and be a badass. Is that so hard?

ITALIAN SODA DAY!!!!!!!!!

Ok, my neighbor Katie and I love Italian soda. However whenever you go to a coffee shop it's always over 2 bucks for one. At the Pick Me Up one is 2.75. fuck that shit. So we had a strange idea...we could make our own for cheap! So we both invested in Italian soda items. Katie bought 3 large gourmet bottles of syrup that were just shipped in today...Peach, Raspberry, Mango. I love peach/raspberry italian soda as well as peach and cream. So I bought all the club soda and half and half. yeah, I just had $5.50 worth of Italian soda for a fraction of the price. tasted exactly the same too. fuck you Pick Me Up!

Sergei Eisenstein...my new school girl crush of late

If you know me at all and how i work if I told you I was working on a paper tonight,which I am, you would know instinctively that it is due tomorrow, which it is. You would also know that for a research paper I'm assembling all my notes tonight too as well as taking them. However my subject has changed entirely. Instead of writing about the influence of German Expressionism on Tim Burton I made a leap of faith in going into a subject I am only vaguely familiar with...early silent Soviet cinema.

Therefore I decided to base my new paper on Eisenstein's work. He was an influential innovative film director in Russia in the 20's and onward until his death in 1948. All of us experimental editors owe him and Lev Kuleshov a great deal of worship. My thesis will be involving the marriage between artistic expression in symbolism and political narrative. Eisenstein's films were truly art, but yet were propaganda films for communism and empowerment of the workers. He set a rhythmic editing pace to his films, the footsteps of the soldiers on the Odessa stairs in Battleship Potempkin a great example. He was also perhaps the first to edit to already predetermined recorded music. So all you music video editors out there, give the man props. Truly he was a tortured director. In working in a political hotbed atmosphere with cruel dictators he faced countless censorship and cancellation of many works. His anticommercialist approach while in America cost him projects as well. He had nervous breakdowns but was driven by his compulsion to show the art happening in his head. On a side note he was fluent in Japanese and you can see the editing montage techniques utilized were influenced by the structure of japanese words and their poetry. Strike was in itself a visual poem. I must get back to writing and getting this done in less than 10 hours or I'm fucked. but I'm excited, his writings really remind me of my own perspectives regarding film as an art form. so yay. there's my bit.

I mean, I went well over a year without it, this should be a piece of cake. So I'm going to be abstinent for as long as possible. There are better things that are more pleasurable and less awkward...like drugs. And yes, I'm serious. As for the rest of you, stay safe, peace out.

EDIT-more rules. I've thought about it, and this venture also includes no oral sex, no fondling on either side...and no masturbation. the real toughy.

so why am I doing this you may wonder? I think everyone should explore their bodies and truly enjoy themselves, married or not, preferably beforehand. I have nothing against sex, I enjoy it immensely, but I've had my fill for now. I need to divert my energy to other things...like music and writing. I'm feeling a wave of creative energy about to take over my brain, and I must be ready for it. All that pent up energy will manifest itself into creating a kick ass rock band. In fact I co founded a new band just yesterday...GYNOSLAYER!!! and yes I named it. It's just me and my nihilist neighbor so far, and we both hate most women...very annoying. Despite the name we will most likely have a sound foundation similar to that of the Elephant 6 collective(think Apples in Stereo, Neutral Milk Hotel, Elf Power, etc.) And last night I wrote 11 pages worth of stuff with no breaks. Maybe I'll actually get my homework done...

ok, sorry guys, the Ambien kicked in and the words were moving around as well as the keys. In fact I have no collection of writing this until I looked at the site today. What I had started to say was that their voices are all beautiful and they harmonize very very well. Georgia kicked ass at the drums, usually she doesn't get to show off much, but a couple numbers were pretty damn good. oh, and they did a dance number to an ipod recording of one song. all choreographed. I saw Georgia walking around Belmont looking for coffee before the show...I didn't approach her, but now I wish I did...oh well.
