“I just despised hospitals! The long wait I really don’t feel if my kid is getting better or worse in that place filled with bacteria!” a quote from Susan Parker a 43 year old housewife. Hospitals. That long wait in that dirty chlorine smelling waiting room. Estimated two three hours, doctors talking to you like your stupid or something. You think you got it bad? Trust me you have it much better than people who live in third world countries! Today I would like to talk to you about creating medical awareness in third world countries. I will be covering what it’s like over in third world countries. What my plan is going to be. And how my plan will help.
You’ve heard about third world countries. And some of you might not know what a third world country is. No it is not another world that has three countries. Third world countries are economically underdeveloped countries of Asia, Africa, Oceania, and Latin America, considered as an entity with common characteristics, such as poverty, high birthrates, and economic dependence on the advanced countries. Which mean countries that depend on other countries such as us to support them. 78% of these third world countries produce mostly agriculture, the median of the birth rates are about 37.8.
The medical systems are just as bad. My grandfather in Vietnam just had to go to the hospital because of liver problems. The hospital has NO air conditioning. Can you believe that? Vietnam as thousand times hotter than Houston. Africa is a thousand times hotter than Houston. Can you just imagine being outside at 12:00 PM for just ONE hour? I don’t think you can. Just think your sick, you have a fever you feel really bad, and its hot like an oven! Feels like you’re a cookie getting baked!
Oh but that’s not the bad part. My grandfather has to SHARE a bed with another patient that has a different sickness. No not a room, a bed. We in American will complain if we have to share a bed, even when we have thoes little curtain things that divide the room into two. What would we be like if we had to share a bed! My uncle has to sleep on the ground to help take care of my grandfather. On the GROUND, the dirty, smelly, filled with germs ground! But you know what? My grandfather actually has it good. Compared to people in Africa. Nina was 6 years old when one day her mom got sick. They took her to a hospital, a 10 mile walk in the hot African dessert. They didn’t think they would make it. Her father and her that is. But they did! They arrived there, but unfortunately it was crowded. Kids sitting they’re with there sick parents, parents sitting there with they’re sick kids. The waiting list was about a week. Nina’s mother died the next morning. You think that’s sad? That happens every single day. Right now I am talking to you someone is dieing. There’s a crisis in these countries! Don’t you understand? Every second of a day someone is dieing because they’re not getting the right medical help. Little kids that are 4 are sitting in they’re little grass huts having fevers, colds, the flu. It’s about 100 degrees outside. Kids here that at that age and is feeling sick, would have they’re mothers and fathers beside them giving them medicine in an air conditioned house. Or at a hospital getting medicine, and getting a little lollie. Kids in Africa DON’T get lollies, nor do they get medicine. 300 people die every day in that country simply because they couldn’t get help in time. Which brings me to my second point how my plan will help.
What my plan is. I’ve just told you about situations that go on everyday in third world countries. Some not so sever. Some not so heartbreaking. But hopefully I did touch you in some way. But right now I’ve only touched let’s see…20 something people at a time. That isn’t enough! My plan will solve this. What we need to do is develop a better organization that will focus specifically on the medical system. And not just that. We need to be able to reach out to people in America. And what better way is there to do that. Of course my lovelies the T.V. A show. Not a long 3 bijjlion hour show. But just a short half an hour show explaining what’s going on. And how we can help. And to take the plan a step further, of course we would need a celebrity. Many celebrities take on good cause, such as Pam Anderson is working hand on hand with PETA. We would of course be able to find someone famous to campaign our organization. We will then use the money that we have raised and set up clinics that will have basic supplies and adequate doctors. We will also open a place to help train more doctors to help in the clinics. That in the future will help these developing countries even more.
But how will my plan help? It will not just create awareness. A quote from Jeremiah Goremen author of Weeping Willows. “Once you created awareness it is the persons choice to decide what to do.” Some people will decide to ignore our message. But some people will chose to help. And that is the ultimate reward.
In conclusion we need to take action. Do something for the world when the world has done so much for us. “ We must appreciate the things we have. And not only that we must help others that aren’t as fortunate as us, because that is what God would want us to do.” Pastor Hank.
