Here are a couple of photos- the day we got engaged and a ring shot. :)

ANNOUNCEMENT

So I haven't posted in a million years.

Big news: Sam and I are engaged. We still haven't set a date. maybe next weekend. No, but I'm really relaxed about the whole thing and just excited to spend the rest of my life with my best friend and someone who makes me truly happy.

Hopefully I'll have more updates later- if I ever remember to update.

love and love to all...

Well, God's timing is certainly perfect. All my worrying and complaining was of course for naught-- because I got a job!!!!! And it couldn't have worked out more perfect. I'm starting on the exact day that my temp job is suppose to end - Dec. 18th. And I get a great salary and benefits- 401K, medical, vision, and yes thankyouJesus dental- and get this- nothing comes out of my pay check for it! I am going to be an administrative assistant for a video production company called Big Shoulders downtown Chicago. They make do tapings there in the building that has a fantastic "live shot" with the cars driving on Lake Shore Drive, the river and some nice big buildings. They also take crews and do on-sight shoots for all different types of things- like football, some show for HGTV, etc. I'm so thankful to God that it worked out the way it did- even though it was a little worrisome not having anything permanent and knowing it would end soon, the relationship that I gained with the Rehabilitation Center of Chicago (this is the agency in the afore-mentioned blog) is priceless. The VP of Philanthropy (which is the dept. I am an admin. assist. for) told me that she would love to have me come while I'm in grad school to help around the dept. if I have the time for some extra money. That way it's not a full commitment on either of our parts, but it still helps us both. Isn't that great! amen.

Well, besides that big news, everything else is going pretty well. I'm trying to organize my Christmas gift list and get some things in the mail by tomorrow, since my entire family lives at practically every end of America! (Florida, California, Alaska, good grief).

So, thanks to everyone who prayed about a job for me and most of all thank you, Lord God, for answering in the most perfect way!

So, I've been temping right.  And it's been pretty good, I mean I've had a job almost everyday, so at least money is coming in.  But yesterday, my temp agency called me and said that the company I'm working for now really likes me and wants to know if I'm looking for a career in Fundraising and stay there permanently.  Well, it's awesome that I got offered a job, but I was honest about the fact that I don't want a career in fundraising and I'm planning on going to grad school in a year.  SO, now that I said that, the lady at the temp agency is like, "Oh, then we're not going to place you in any temp-to-perm position, because we would never place you just to leave in a year.  I really think long-term temping for a year is what you need to do."  WHAT?  Temping for a year?! instability? with no benefits?  (I haven't been to the dentist in 6 years people!)  This is crazy.  This job search is making me crazy.  I mean I could go to starbucks and work and get benefits.  But, I just want to do something that will pay me enough to live on.  Is this too much to ask?  I may not have as much as a financial burden as others, but I still have rent and bills.  maybe I'm being too greedy.  I don't know.

GUM

No "real" job yet in Chicago, but I have worked a couple of days temping.  Today I am a receptionist for the Wrigley Company. I get all the free gum I want. What flavor do you like? The choices are:

Doublemint
Spearmint
Juicy Fruit
Big Red
Winterfresh
Extra- winterfresh
Extra- classic bubble
Extra- peppermint
Extra- spearmint
Extra- cinnamon
Eclipse- polar ice
Eclipse- spearmint
Eclipse- peppermint
Eclipse- winterfrost
Freedent (won't stick to most dental work)

I'm sure I could pick you guys up some.  It wouldn't be a problem
