| eXperience....So we started a student ministries thing at my church called eXperience. So far, we haven't had anyone come who was a student that doesn't already go to the church. Yes, we want to make it an outreach, but no, it isn't about numbers. We haven't had more than 30 people show up so far, and though that gets initially frustrating for me, I then take a step back and realize that that's not what the goal is. The goal is to build a community of seekers who will come together once a week to experience God with each other. And when I let that thought take control, my worship becomes much more authentic. This past week I got up to play a couple songs at the end of the service and it morphed itself into a prayer time that lasted who knows how long with multiple songs, both spontaneous and planned. It was great.
And now I must go.
Snyder quote of the day: "I wonder where these Swedish Fish are really from... did you ever think of that? It's like the Greek chicken down in the cafeteria. Really?!"
Salute of the day: goes to Marissa Rinehart in her delicate state. |

| knock, knock....Tonight's knock, knock joke is brought to you by some little girl in Colorado who got a hold of Rob's cell phone while I was in the midst of talking to him.
"Knock, knock" who's there? "orange" orange who? "knock, knock" who's there? "orange" orange who? "oh, knock, knock" who's there? "banana" banana who? which after a few more repetitions then preceded back into the orange you glad i didn't say banana?
Snyder quote of the day: "I'm not a bird-poop-a-logian."

| I was just on the big screen at Great American Ballpark. The odd thing, I wish that I could do it again so that I could plan something more creative. |

| funny-ish story....Soooo once upon a time I woke up really early in order to get to my dentist appointment on time. And once upon a time my appointment was for 7:50am....not 6:50am.
So that's why I'm sitting in the dentist's office right now with 20 minutes to spare before they take me in.
Awesome.
Snyder quote of the week: "That's why we're called believers, not knowers."
Salute of the day: goes to Brian, I'm not sure why yet, but I think there's more to him then I am assuming. (though now of course I am assuming more sooo) |
