| The Danish Invasion...Meet the Danes!
From left to right: Ben, Frederik, me, Christian at Science World

Three of my favorite friends from my DTS in Perth, Australia/Cairo, Egypt. They have all blessed my life in a significant way, and it was so cool to get the chance to see them again and spent the whole week having fun!
Jaclyn and I picked them up from the airport in Seattle, and we spent the first couple days in Vancouver. After they hit up Robson street and practically bought out Future Shop (apparently it's half the price for electronics here), we headed back to Victoria for the rest of the week. A few days of hot tubs, Salmon Kings, lake Cowichan and snowboarding brought us to the end of our visit and we said our goodbyes and sent them back to Seattle on the Clipper. BARELY. PS- You need to make reservations for the Clipper. Especially if you're relying on it to get your 3 Danish friends back to the airport on time for their flight back to Europe. I almost had a nervous breakdown and they almost didn't make it, but God's favor was on us and the staff bent over backwards to help us out! PTL!
Pop Quiz - Where do Danish people come from? You'd be suprised how many people have asked me that...

| Change...Hello again, Xanga world! It's been a while.
I'd like to pay tribute to my dear friend, 2006. What a year! A great year. One full of moments that took my breath away. Full of new friends, challenges, and growing experiences. You know, the stuff that memories are made of. Memories that I've replayed in my mind many times, and will countless times more throughout my life. I like those kind.
This past year I have: Traded Canadian winter for Aussie summer, lived for 3 months in a radically different culture, ridden camels in the Sahara, prayed for people and saw them healed, made new best friends, bought my first car, welcomed my 4th niece into the world, said my final goodbye to my dear Oma, drove in my first snowstorm, and met one very special boy...
And as last year has faded to this, 2007, I find that my mind has shifted from a state of reflection to one of anticipation- stuff is going to happen this year. Big type stuff. There are lots of decisions to be made in terms of what I feel my calling is and walking into that, career decisions, further education... and I think, HOPE, I believe that I will find answers and direction regarding these things in the months to come.
Change is a funny thing. It used to scare me terribly. Maybe in some situations it still does. But I've learned, and I'm learning to love and embrace it. I have done a lot of changing this past year, and will be doing much more in 2007 and every day, week, month, year after that. In fact, I think I'd absolutely hate it for things to stay the same. How boring and predictable would that BE?! Gross!! I love surprises. Life would be incredibly dull without suprises, don't you think? So here's to change... and learning, and growing. Oh how I want Jesus to shape me, so that every day I begin to resemble my King a little bit more.
Bless ya, friends!
