Busy, Busy, Busy

It's kinda been awhile since my last post and I'm trying to keep the "3 posts/month" going.  Anyway, the only exciting thing about the past few weeks is that I went to a Kenny Chesney concert last Friday night, and that's all that is worth saying.  This week is gonna be oodles of fun.  Today I leave with my brother and dad up to Kansas City to move my brother out of his condo....don't ask why, the bottom line is that he just got screwed.  Coming back tomorrow and on Wednesday I should be getting my braces taken off, then on Thursday having an implant put into my mouth, then on Friday I'm headin' down to Columbus to have all my nasty worts taken off my body....so bottom line, i'm coming back looking gorgeous so you ladies better watch out!!  Since that was such a good closing to that really long sentence, I"m gonna leave it at that.  Till next time.

Last night's plan was for me and buddy Kenny to go eat w/ some ppl that he knew, maybe bowl a game or three, then go and see Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.  Well, that's not exactly how things turned out.  His friends ended up cancelling on us so we went and ate at a place called Country Inn in Ripley, which really wasn't that bad, but it wasn't spectacular.  The we proceeded to search two Wal-Mart's to find a cd and finally go bowling.  Now even though that all sounds a lil disappointing, mainly bcuz we didn't go see the movie, the thing that made my night worthwhile is the fact that I won every game that Kenny and I bowled...and on top of that, we did have a friendly bet riding on the match.  The bet was this: The loser out of a best of 5 games pays for his games and the winner's.  This first game is always a lil shaky for both of us, but even though I did not get one strike the entire first game, I had a total of nine spares, seven of them in a row.  And by some miracle, managed to beat Kenny by one pin....and then the wheels came off!!  The next game Kenny ended up choking on the last few frames, which put me ahead 2 games to none.  On the third game, Kenneth just couldn't pull his game together, and I ended up sweeping the first three games to win the challenge.  However, I was bowling so well that I wasn't ready to stop and head back home, but Ken was already running low on cash and couldn't afford to bowl another game unless we were still betting.  So, a proposition was proposed.  If Kenny was the winner of the fourth and final match, then each player would pay for his own bowling (basically, we would be even); if I won, then he would pay the cost for the extra game that I bowled on top of all the other games.  After contemplating the challenge, I accepted with much enthusiasm.  And so it began...I started off with a spare and he started off with a strike; however, for those of you who don't know the scoring system of bowling, it's always the next role that determines how much a strike is worth.  I managed to get a 9/ with my next role, while he only got a 9,0.  And thus we were tied.  From then on, neither one of us managed to obtain a lead greater than 2 pins until the final frame.  Since I was first, I knew I needed atleast a spare to give myself a chance to win...and that's just what I did.  For my final throw of the match, I just chunked it straight down the pipe and knocked down eight pins giving me a final score of 164, which was my highest for the night and put some major pressure on my opponent.  Kenny went into the final frame needing 15 pins to tie and 16+ for the win.  As his ball rolls down the lane and crashes into the first pins creating a shower of whiteness, Kenny gazes at the two pins that were untouched and remained standing.  He had left himself a split and knew then that the game was over.  Even with his last throw knocking down one of the two pins, his efforts were futile.  Finally, I had shown Kenny what it felt like to be outplayed every game and achieved a momentus victory that was oh so sweet!

That's all I got time for, later guys.

Well, for the first time all summer I actually got up this morning and went out to the park and ran.  Even though I only managed to run one lap and walk two, I felt a sense of achievement bcuz I had finally done something that I said I was going to do.  When I got back home I did some ab work and took a well justified shower.  There's something about fulfillment that can just change a person's outlook about everything.  Normally I woulda come up to my dad's office and thought of it as being a prison that I'm stuck in for several hours out of the day, but today was different.  I see it more as a learning facility that I have not taken full advantage of yet, a place that has mass potential yet I have had no desire.  From now on I will try to fulfill my goals and see things from a different light, make that a brighter one.  Anyway, time for lunch!!  Later peeps.

Greetings and Salutations,

I noticed that it has been awhile since my last post and figured I should update yall on the past two weeks of the Life of Taylor.

Sun. July 16th thru Sat. July 22nd:  That Sunday I did not make to church (I know I'm a sinner).  My dad and I ate lunch at his favorite place, a.k.a. Las Margaritas, and then I packed for the next 3 days journey.  That afternoon I travelled down to Jackson for 2 reasons: 1. I had to register for a class @ 8 AM the next morning, and 2. It was a pre-reg weekend, a.k.a. meet hot new freshman girls.  As the nights' events progressed I did live it up with everybody else and ended up in Tom Rinaldi's old bed, which is prolly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in by the way.  Anyway, woke up early Monday morning and got into the class I wanted after an hour-long ordeal about not finding a person from the math dept. to sign my Add/Drop Form.  Immediately following, I drove back home to Tupelo to meet up with my dad, a family friend and his 3 grandkids to begin our roadtrip to St. Louis to see 2/3 of the Cardinals and Braves series.  If any of you didn't happen to catch those games, the first two games were blowouts in favor of the Braves, then the third game the Cardinals used their ace pitcher and won.  The city of St. Louis is always fun except this time, bcuz there were 3 kids under the age of 10 always with me.  We got to go up in the Gateway Arch for about the 6th time, which means my dad almost had a heart-attack for the 6th time.  When we got back on Wednesday, I don't really remember doing much of anything the rest of the day due to the six hours of riding back with the grandkids.  On Thursday, I got excited again bcuz SAE Summer Rush Weekend was about to commence.  I did some quick laundry and re-packed for a weekend of leisure with the guys.  Thursday night, didn't do much besides hang around the house and drink a few brews.  Friday night, ordered a lot of pizza and went to my first Mississippi Braves game, which is awesome!!  Saturday couldn't have been much better on the Boggacheeda (or however you spell that river).  We had all the necessites: good company, tubes, and brews.  Now, before people start pointing fingers @ me and telling me that drinking is bad, I will say that I only sipped every beer that I drank and was never in a state of mind that would allow not to control myself.  After we got back from the river, I proceeded to clean up for dinner and then get back as quickly as possible bcuz we were having a DJ at the house.  I ended up eating at Kyoto's Japanese grill, which was more than satisfactory and will be attended on a regular basis from now on.  Upon returning to the house, the dance floor was calling my name and we talked the night away.

Got to go to lunch now....I will conclude upon return!

All right, I just took a look at my site and realized something.  I've been lying to you guys for quite some time now.  And I believe it's time for me to fess up, so here it is:  When scrolling down to the bottom of my page you will notice that there is a note with a blue 3 on it and says "YOU ARE AN ACHIEVER";  if you continue to read this note, it goes on to say that I am easily motivated and full of ambition, etc.  Well, the thing is that's not true.  I'm prolly the laziest guy I know and I can't even motivate myself to get up out of the bed until after 11:00 each day, and that's only because I gotta get ready to go eat lunch with my dad everyday by noon.  The only ambition that I wake up with each day is not to piss my dad off enough to the point when he starts yelling at me.  The only activities that I put forth any effort into are golf and the daily push-up workout that I've been doing.  I still don't know if I'm gonna be able to get the grades I need to get my scholarships back after this semester, and quite frankly I've just been able to see nothing but the negative sides of things lately.  It's like I've turned into the male counterpart of "Debbie Downer" or something.  Anyway, I'll be in jackson this weekend for pre-reg, but only for sunday night.  I have to drive back up to Tupelo on Monday morning, after registering, to join my dad and friends on a 3 day 2 night trip to St. Louis to see the Cardinals and Braves 3 game series.  It'll be fun.  Then on Thursday I'm coming back down to Jackson for the SAE summer rush party, which I hope will be good bcuz I'd like to see some the members of my pledge class again.  So, all-in-all that's about it.  I'll be sure to be on my best behavior during this next week of fun and excitement.

TOOTLELOO!!
