because you shine brighter than anyone does...another busy week. I had my violin auditions on sunday night. can I just say... wow! hundreds and hundreds of people tried out. the funny thing was, I wasn't nervous at all, until I actually walked through the door into my audition. I didn't really know where I was... and then it just hit me right then.
I'm in the middle of the stage of a music hall!
I just stood, stunned, for a few seconds, then the judges in the front row said "hello, april johnson." strangest experience of my life.
they said they'd let people know how they did on monday.
well... they called back. ^_^ and I've been accepted into the Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra. school is going pretty well too. while my junior year brings an insane amount of work, I'm managing to keep pretty good grades. my music theory class is really fun... we all knew mr. garwood was going to be a great teacher when he introduced the "dead monk theory" on the first day... crazy guy. and another thing... my church has small groups that meet on different weekday nights, but I just can't find the time for one right now. while I would like to go, I'm so busy with the amount of school and violin practicing I have, and now with orchestra rehearsals, things are not going to get less busy. 'tis a frustrating thing. ah well...
