Small, high strung, and loyal. You do best in the city with a adults - young kids could crush you! ________________________________________________________________ Long time… no cool post. I am going to rectify my inability to write an intriguing post: So bare with me… I have a new CD… well it’s actually my sisters, but it’s really my moms. Have you ever heard of the Five Browns? Its this group of five kids with the last name brown, thus the name, and they play classic classical music such as; “Rhapsody in Blue” by Gershwin, as well as some Stravinsky, and Liszt, stuff that I had stop listening to after I had moved on from playing the piano. Which brings me to the fact that these kids all play the piano; they set up five Steinway Grand Pianos, and play away in harmony. Pretty fantastic stuff, I like it. While we’re talking about music, there was Jazz on the Boulevard off of University last Thursday. Besides the fact that it’s jazz, which should have been reason enough to go, the whole festival was featuring alto saxophone player Bradford Marsalis and renowned trumpet player Wynton Marsalis. The downside to all of this is that I was absent. Instead of going, I chose to practice debate (blah!!!!!). I don’t think Jeff (debate partner) ever reads my xanga, so I can safely say “worst decisions of my life!” You would think that I’d have my priorities straight. And still while we’re talking about music in general, my grandmother (Aka. Granmo) came down the same weekend from Memphis, which was fantastic, we had not seen her in a few months. While she was here, she told a story about how B. B. King came into the Ear-Eye-Mouth-Nose Clinic that she works at, apparently he had some kind of cold. Anyway I was just a little disheartened for not seeing the advantages of working at a clinic. I was not surprised, however, because my grandmother meets “famous people” quite frequently. For example: all the Memphis Grizzles have come to clinic at some point, she has spent the day with Bill Cosby (few years back), she has also met Elvis Presley, but that wasn’t at the clinic, it was a long time ago when she went on a double-date with some friends in high school, and he just happened to be one of the guys there. So that’s about all I have for now. Take luck. Take care of the luck that you might have… care for it. |
