| So once again I happen to get a bird's eye view of a protest. During
the SF Iraq protests back in March 2003, I was working in Downtown SF
in the same building as Diane Feinstein's SF office. So I witnessed all
the protesting and chaos from above.
For the Immigration
protests, I witnessed the SJ immigration protest from work. Luckily we
have nice views from the 14th floor so instead of leaving work early
like what some of my coworkers did, a good number of us stayed around
and watched them walk by. To see the massive protest was amazing.
While we all cracked jokes about how protesting should be a way to get
people to come to Downtown San Jose, we all stood in awe of the
crowds. My coworker postively commented that only in America will you
see a protest at this level with no government intervention.
Ultimately, I think it will be hard to predict what type of immigration
policy will be implemented by the government.

Looking east from City Hall. The crowd basically goes as far as you can see.
