Seeing that I haven't posted to Xanga regularly for months, I'm just going to stop posting here all together. I'm still on Facebook and might continue posting there or start a whole new blog. Who knows. But the whole Xanga thing is getting old so it's time to say "so long and thanks for all the fish!"

You may remember my post on MLMs half a year ago. Well this guy I knew from Penn State contacted me a few months ago and basically tried to do his pitch on me. It was for World Financial Groul (WFG) whose meeting I've already attended. I kindly rebuffed him and said that if he wanted to chill out and have a normal conversation, feel free to get in touch with me. Otherwise, leave me the fuck alone. I guess he didn't quite understand. The very next conversation (today) went like this:

The first is a fund-raiser that I'm participating in to support the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the Cammy Lee Leukemia Foundation. All proceeds will be donated to the two organizations. Come out to Eyebar and party up for a good cause!

And after a few drinks at Eyebar, why not head on over to Aqua? This party is hosted by the always studly guys of Penn State Lambda Phi Epsilon (you know!) and the lovely ladies of UMBC alpha Kappa Delta Phi. They are fund raising to keep all the charitable things they do possible. Come out to support my chapter and you'll be also supporting all the work we do with the Cammy Lee Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, THON, and more!

I'll be at both events so I'll know if you come or not. NO FAKING! JUST COME!

Sweet! My Pumas came! I got the pair of Speed Cats that I saw in the Puma store for $80 for significantly less. Like for something to the tune of half of that. I've been wanting this pair ever since Justin and I visited our friend Nima in Pittsburgh. Since there was little else to do there, we ended up in a Puma store. They each got a pair of Pumas for around $60 or $70. I saw this pair and tried it on and liked the look but decided they were too expensive and passed, vowing to find a better deal elsewhere.

Incidentally, we went out later that night and ran into the girl that worked at the Puma store and sold Nima his shoes. The conversation went something like this... "Oh I remember you guys! You (points to Nima) got the Romas, you (points to Justin) got [insert shoe name], and you (points to me) got nothing... yeah I can't talk to you anymore" and proceeds to ignore me. Wow... burn!

Is it just me or is $80 a ridiculous price for a pair of shoes? That includes all those overpriced running shoes that I want to get (though I did score a nice pair of Asics GT2110s for $35 online on black friday). That's the low end even. You can do a Mongolian Shoe BBQ on Puma's website and create your own custom shoe. That will set you back like $150 I believe. I can't bring myself to pay more than $50 for a pair of shoes (well, except nice pair of dress shoes for work). But I think that anything over $50 for a pair of shoes I'd wear on the weekends is pretty exorbitant. Maybe I'm just cheap? Oh well, I'm happy with my purchase. I just wanted to share that with the world.

PS: I have been obliged to say that none of this would be possible without Christina, who incidently also got a pair of Pumas which I will grudgingly admit are cooler than mine. Yay for Christina's coupon finding skillz!

Yay Global Warming

So it was 70 degrees in the middle of Janurary this weekend. Sounds like the perfect excuse to have a barbecue! Hooray for global warming! The night before, I had gone to Barkley's place to play Xbox 360. I ended up passing out at around 4am after watching Ben play Geometry Wars for like an hour. When I woke up at 8am, he was STILL playing and hadn't stopped for 5 straight hours. Addict.

I drove myself home at 8am but found myself back there 6 hours later to meet up for a barbecue that Kiyeoul organized. After a late start, we got to the park and fired up two grills; one for the hot dogs and burgers, the other for Kiyeoul's galbi and Linda's awesome chili. Although everyone managed to drink all the beer while I was manning the grill, fun was had by all.

Later on, the party moved to Linda's place. Whoever thinks that beer bongs are "sooo college" needs to be kicked in the head. Beer bongs are great for all occasions including but not limited to birthdays, weddings, and bar mitzvahs (mazel tov!).
