Haven't updated the xanga for quite a while. Busy in work all the time, even don't have time for a few good sleep.

Completed the FSA exams finally, passing all the regulations, securities and derivatives exams. The next step would be the CFA in the coming June, after inspired by the huge success of Mr Michael Wong.

Work is fine at the moment, apart from the continual restructing of the bank which brings an unstable sentiment to the market. I'm working on equity structuring, mainly on indices. I just completed the project of a Climate Change and Environment Index, which has been successfully launched in the market. It would surely bring millions of money to the bank thanks to the recent global warming heat. A few other projects are also undergoing, and will be completed probably by March.

Fortunately I do working in markets instead of banking, I just can't be bothered to read a hundreds of annual reports and make discretionary assumptions on companies followed by several nights of number crunching work. (It's completely my personal preference, no offence to bankers :)

Paid a visit to Bath and Stonehenge 2 weeks ago with a few good dbs friends from Hong Kong. It was pretty fun. Photos will be uploaded later. Singing k with 14 people last Friday was also a good relax after a week of hardship. Looking forward to more gathering for the celebration of the Golden Pig Chinese Year. Of course, a little bit bonus from the bank would also help :)

O.. Yeah.. London was snowing 2 days ago. The snow accumulated to a few inches thick, first time in 3 years.

A few photos taken during X'mas. The firework was the most gorgeous and beautiful one i've ever seen.

Back from Amsterdam for a week and completed the one week FSA training in London, and will take the regulatory and derivatives exams in mid Jan. Quite busy as usual, while everything is still pretty well under control at the moment. The x'mas holiday has started, and will last for around 2 weeks till the end of the year. Wish that could be longer. I started missing the school time, which is much more relaxing than working, and I still can't get used to get out of the bed so early every day for work :(

Forgot to post the photos taken in Belgium earlier, which were taken during the Academy training for 3 days outside the Netherland for team building activities. I just missed all the fun there so much :)

The 6 weeks comprehensive training in Amsterdam comes to the end. There're 1 more week specially designed for sales and trading, but 15 out of 19 of my friends have flied back to London and Hong Kong. I will miss them a lot, with all the fun and laughters.

We had the closing dinner in a castle, which is located in the middle of nowhere. The place was just gorgeous. It was like having dinner with the royal family. The meal was brilliant as well, which costs 100 euro per person normally.

We're the top 3 winners of the trading trophies! Though i could only manage to get the third place, i'm still quite satisfied, coz our group is simply the best one so far! I got the highest return in the trading profolio in the past 6 weeks, came third in the equities trading simulation and won the FX trading simulation by beating 19 strong candidates from my group and another training group :) The only reason i couldn't be the winner is i've taken too much risk and volatility, but high return is just always accompanied with high risk though. The one standing next to me of the pic on the right is our trading trainer. He's just a damn smart person.

Don't worry. I am not a big fan of cigar :)

This is the trophy and reward that i got after this 6 weeks intensive and competitive program. My trainer believes i would be a very successful trader. Well, i hope i could really be one in the forseeable future. Anyway, i'll start my next rotations next year in private investor product structuring and FX exotics. It would be extremely challenging to me, with all the VBA and calculations. They'll be the best areas to train me up before working on the trading desks, as the near future will all be about structuring and derivatives trading.

Last but not least, i would like to apologize to all my friends and especially, my special one, that i was so busy in the past few weeks and did not keep in touch much. I'll be more active and am looking forward to speaking to you all soon.

Dinner on last Wed was great. We made 6 Sicily courses meal ourselves under the instructions of the chef, and had some good fun. It's a Fun's Kitchen, not the Hell's Kitchen.

This's one of the products i made with my colleauges. After getting some orange peel and cream inside, the dessert would be done. They look not too bad.. rite??
