| hating the midwestthis is the last straw. i hate indiana and the nothing that it offers. it is time for me to go, seriously. if i had a place to go and a job to sustain that going, i would pack up my car and be there. except, wait...i wouldnt cause my car is being angry and riding at way too high (almost double) rpm. not cool. this really ruined the planned job search of today. well, so did some other findings, but that's indiana for ya. so, if anyone in a cool place (read: not indiana) wants a fun roomie, let me know! i'll clean and cook dinner until i can find a job! thats a bargain deal there, folks. or...anyone here who just wants to leave but needs a roomie, let me know! although, practically everyone is engaged or married already so...ok, anyways, at least the last couple of days have been beautiful, even though i've been pretty bored home alone and broke. (read: the pool has been COLD since all that rain and chilly wind and those cool, cool nights). at this rate, once i do finally get an interview or what-have-you, i'll be so dark that i might get discriminated against. har-de-har-har. well, that is if i'm in this town... on a happier (and non-sarcastic note), i'm going to florida, leaving tomorrow morning! i'm thrilled to be leaving, even if it is only for a few days. this begins the summer travel season of val. but i want to go more places than the 2 florida trips (and will be even if i have no job!!). so, people, i will see ya then! hey friends, if you want to go on a small roadtrip for the hell of it, we should plan to! or if those of you lucky enough not to be in warsaw, indiana do want to come here ( i wouldn't know why!) i have a pool! well, that feels better. but i'm still angry. and bored. guess i should pack for the trip! later gators.
p.s. if you know someone that knows someone who is looking for an employee of a job that i may like/be good at, let them know you know someone and holla!
| how can this be it? how can it be over already?? what a four years it has been...
close my eyes, only for a moment, and the moment's gone All my dreams, pass before my eyes, a curiosity Dust in the wind, all they are is dust in the wind Same old song, just a drop of water in an endless sea All we do, crumbles to the ground, though we refuse to see
Dust in the wind, All we are is dust in the wind
Don't hang on, nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky It slips away, all your money won't another minute buy
Dust in the wind, All we are is dust in the wind -Kansas, Dust in the Wind
Thanks for the memories everyone!!
| good stuff right here"Listen. When things look serious, I do jokes. Some people smoke or chew gum. It's the way I keep my shit together, that's all."
"Smoke 'em if you got 'em. Whoop! Whoop!"
"Dream's are the psyche's way of taking a good dump every now and then. And that people who don't dream in a way they can often remember when they wake up are mentally constipated in some way."
"No one can tell waht goes on in between the person you were and the person you become. No one can chart that blue and lonely section of hell. There are no maps of the change. You just come out on the other side. Or you don't."
"Superstition, like true love, needs time to grow and reflect upon itself. When you finish a barn, you hang a horseshoe ends up over the door to keep the luck in. But if one of the nails falls out and the horseshoe swings points down, you don't abandon the barn."
"Asking for too much is one of humanity's more popular ways of courting disaster."
Ahh, I love The Stand. | | |
| gettin' around...well, the end of last week into the weekend was dallas, and yesterday was chicago! the contemporary art history class im in took a little trip to the museum of contemporary art to see the andy warhol exhibit. good times. i just wish they had had more. however, the dosent was pretty good.
there was this one exhibit entitled, Him. creepy...i really wanted to take pics. of different works, but there is a no photography policy and guards or whatever they are called all over the place. i did manage to get a pic. of this door sign. it looked like a sign denoting puking or an area to puke in. upon closer inspection...it was showing there was a drinking fountain nearby! the pic. looks like an icon for the former as well. haha.
i want to go back just to walk around, look around at random stores and take random pics. more than i got this time. i usually forget my camera everywhere. luckily, i remembered this time. well...
i feel very lackluster right now. i got all excited and inspired for some projects last night and into today, but now im just crashing of that. hopefully i can pick up the slack at least for class tomorrow. then i wont worry too much until sunday and that week. damn.
| Back From Dallasso, dallas...yeah, it was warm. i miss that. todays weather was so bizarre, all the crazy wind and the rain. well, the convention was all right. there were some stupid moments and the whole thing was not managed very well but overall, going was worth the money and missed classed. not that i emotionally missed them haha. all the keynote speakers were good in their own way. the first lady (with nike) has about the coolest job ever. the second guy was crazy, angry, had pervy work and said fuck a lot. i like that. the third lady was just sarcastic and again, i like that. i bought her book. if i had had this book 3 years ago...well, things would be different where type is concerned folks. and that would be awesome. the final speaker was just comical.
the job fair was all right. i only got to talk to 4 people total. the first guy had some good things to say. he liked the 3-D work. he also told me i was a unique case lol. its true. the second lady liked my style. she really really liked the 3-D work and told me if i dont like interior design or find i want to change etc...that i should consider 3-D. now if only i could have a good program for this stuff. and more time of course. i will get going on my 3-D independent study projects! the next 2 guys were together and they were just akward, but they had some good advice (which i knew was coming but was shocked to only really hear it hard core from 1 interview) oh well, thats what i went for, critiques from someone besides our only gd teacher.
so, for the flights. this was the first time i had ever flown. it was cool. on both descents, we flew through major clouds. im talking, white was all i could see out the window. going down into the mass and then flying in them made me think of stephen king's the langoliers. its a bizarre novella and the beginning is where the plane all the characters are on goes through a kind of rip in time. well, now i have a mental picture of what king wrote. i flew into that part of the story. too bad i wasnt reading it on the plane, haha.
now im back and completely graphic designed out. wednesday, i'll get back into it then, yeah. tomorrow im going on an art history field trip to the museum of contemporary art, chicago to see the andy warhol exhibit. im pumped. also missing classes again, but after this i should be able to get back into the swing of things. hopefully. since theres only a month left and so much fucking work left to do. for every class. i need to get on top of things. but, this semester im giving myself a kinda-sorta night off. tuesday i want to watch american idol and just chill so...thats what im gonna do. i think i would have been more successful and WAY less stressed if i had done that. less stress = better job on work and more motivation. i will not have a repeat of last semester. i WILL NOT have a repeat of last semester! there. i said it.
so...yeah, i dont know what else to say. other than i like jewel. i really like her song Sometimes it Be That Way. check it out. esp. the live version which has extra lyrics. yeah, ok so time to doodle or something. that should be half way productive and *gasp* fun even! later taters!
