My Fall Break

So, George Fox doesn't officially give their students a Fall Break, but I made one for myself. My mom came on Thursday and stayed until last night. It was so nice to have her here. Today, I just want to go home, but it's really getting better. I know I still haven't fully adjusted to living here...but it's not at all like it was in the first month that I was here. Let's see...Mom and I went to the Coast...saw whales and a beautiful lighthouse; we went to the Portland Saturday Market where everyone is strange, yet so lovely (i.e. a sword-swallower and a one-armed man playing guitar).

Then we chilled out at home and searched everywhere in town for the Disney movie, Hocus Pocus...yah...I don't know why, but we did.

I was given lots of food...a crock pot...a George Forman...a George Fox piggy bank for my tips (I made $20 the last time I worked..ee!) and the cutest tea pot in the world.

Mine is actually Kelly Green (of course)...but isn't it wonderful??? it's self-infusing...I love that little thing.

Also, I bought a photo of a lavender field in France from these French photographers who just moved here. They were so wonderful. Now, on top of finding a tulip field (inspired by Big Fish), I want to find the lavender fields that are supposed to be "on the other side" of Mount Hood (whatever side is the other side)

So...yah, I only had one day off from school, but we made the most of it and it was lovely.

Oh, I also started making espresso (after being at work for 2 mos)...I finally graduated! I am bad at it...I can only make American shots...not Ristretto (look it up) http://www.coffeegeek.com/opinions/aarondelazzer/02-24-2002 , but maybe I'll make it someday. Don't go to Starbucks, anymore...they don't make coffee the right way...you're really missing out when you get automatic shots (I think my job is corrupting my simple-love for coffee :( )

That's all. I miss most of you (whatever that means)
