Our sweet girl arrived at 4:26 am on Saturday June 28......
Jessie Carol Brown
10 pounds 4 ounces 22 inches long
I labored from 2am until about 3:25 before waking Richard. It was very peaceful and very similar to Max's birth. I slept on and off and listened to Richard's breathing. I didn't want to wake him til closer to transition. I woke him at 3:25 and said i was pretty sure that this was it. He told me not to be scared and we also talked about last minute name changes. Durng my next contraction, my water broke. Richard tapped out(more like a big foot stomping) a little wake up call for our midwife who was sleeping in our guest room downstairs and then went upstairs to get the two assistants-----Karis and Kimmi.
I labored for 1 more hour in the birthing tub surrounded by alot of love. I think it was the most joyful birth for us yet. We were joking alot between contractions. At one point I told them to stop making me so happy---they were throwing me off my game plan. It was a little longer than usual, but less painful....so I was OK with it taking a little longer!
After Jessie arrived, we woke the two oldest boys. Cole cut the cord, and we had agreat time weighing and dressing and taking care of our new baby. I was also great later that morning when the younger Brown children woke up and realized their baby sister was here.
