It's been a while

It really has been a long time since I last used Xanga. Anyway, let's get reaquainted again. My name is Jason Guest and I love Jesus. I believe that we all have one life to live. God gives us second chances, so we should cherish every moment of it. No matter what life throws at you, don't throw it back. We should not blame God for our misfortunes, but give Him praise for the new life He has given us.

In short, if there were one thing that I could say to the next generation it would be this:  Do not live for each day but seize each day. We do not always know what impact we have in the lives of others. "Choose this day who you will serve. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!"

The Last of the Omegans!

This weekend was a very awesome and yet sad one. This was our last trip for Omega. We traveled to Fairview Heights, Illinois which is 15 miles east of St. Louis. We got to stay at Trisha's (Dan's girlfriend) house. Her family is so cool, especially Xavier. I'm gonna miss making pizzas with that little guy. The performance went very well and the food of course was amazing.

When we got into St. Louis, we got a little off track but we took a few RIGHT turns and were ready to go again . We got to walk by the St. Louis Arch which is huge! Then we ate at Friday's. Trisha paid for us all which was so cool. The whole way home the girls were rocking out to whatever music they could. I'm really going to miss my omega group . We all bonded so much. It's going to be weird not traveling anymore. I guess this means more time for studying .

Anywho, I just wanted to give another update and let you all know that I have been great and doing well. I just finished my accounting homework and it's 3:15 so I am going to bed. I hope you see everyone in Omega at the party in a couple weeks. Take care and God bless everyone.  Showing His love, Jason.

More Recent Update

I had some time so I thought I'd put another quick update in here. I have been really well lately...other than having the flu Monday and Tuesday. I was pretty sick but I'm much better now. Anyway on the flip side, I am now officially triple majoring. My first major is still Accounting and the other two are Economics/Finance and Business Administration with a concentration in Management. I am going to be busy next year but I know God will not put me in a situation that I cannot handle.

In other news, the cubs won on opening day which makes me happy. Tonight is going to be my last omega practice ever! It makes me sad because I love everyone on my team so much and I feel like we are all family. We've all goten so close to each other. Well, I must be going. I hope you all enjoy the rest of the semester and good luck with finals. God bless you all.  Showing His love, Jason.

I Know Dan Rodriuguez!

So I woke up this Wednesday morning ready for the day. But for some reason, I was late for chapel (very unlike me). So knowing I already had a late, I did the natural thing and skipped which is why I am here now. Anywho, I noticed that I had not updated in a while so I figured this was God giving me some time to take a break from my crazy schedule and just relax.

For the next few weekends, I will be traveling with my Omega group to different churches. March 23-26, we will be in Horton, Michigan (by Jackson) at Deena's house. April 1-2 we will be in Ottawa, Illinois at Corinne's church (yea Jeremiah Joe's!). And finally April 9, we are going to Fairview Heights, Illinois (by St. Louis) at my old church. April 16 is Easter. My family will probably be going to my Aunt Paula and Uncle Jerry's house or something.

My Omega group has already been to three churches and we have had an awesome trip each time. We just got back from Dan Rodriguez's church Sunday night (I think I left my deodorant there). We also found out that he is an international gold medalist in Tae Kwon Do. It's not everyday you can say that. He really is a great guy. Him and his girlfriend are really quite cute. His parents were very nice and his dad's fettuchine alfredo (actually his mom cooked the noodles !) was amazing. Dan and I will both be RAs next year also (Dan will be in Chaptman and I will be in Hills). Well since I'm on the topic of talking about my Omega team, I might as well introduce you all to the rest.

Merideth Hoppe, along with Dan and me, is an Omega member. She and Dan are both freshies (haha). She is a Nursing major. She has a very good voice and does an awesome Myrtle too! I have yet to meet her parents but I'm sure they're lovely. Her roommates name is Megan. Merideth is also going to England in the summer to visit her sister. That's about all I got on her...for now anyway.

Deena Drake is one of my co-leaders. She and Dan are both Youth Ministry majors. She is a sophomore and is in her second year of Omega. She has a wonderful family (her dad is an accountant, her mom is a gym/physical education teacher, and her brother is a hunter/basketall/soccer player). Her roommate is Amber McKean. Deena has three cats: Mittens, Penelope, and Squeaks. Mittens is mean, Penelope is sweet, and squeaks is half cat half raccoon. She is also going to the Focus on the Family Institute in Colorado. Congratulations again!

Last but certainly not least is the ever-popular Corinne Norem. Corinne is my other Omega co-leader. She is a Junior Elementary Education major. This is her third year of Omega. She has a very nice family, which I was able to meet last weekend. Her dogs are both cute (Tilly and Peaches). She also has another dog and a cat that we weren't able to see. Her brother has a 1970s Chevy Nova (really nice). She is planning on becoming a teacher so she is going through a lot of practicums and will be student teaching next spring. I wish you all the best luck with that!

Well it appears as though chapel and come and gone. Class is getting ready to start so I must leave you all. It was fun to write on here again. I hope you all have a safe school year and don't get too stressed out by projects and papers. Just know that God's grace covers all! God bless you guys.  Showing His love, Jason.

Texas just beat USC in the Rose Bowl. It was an amazing game for anyone that watched it. School starts up in a week. I got a couple books online from ebay pretty cheap. Efollett is such a rip off. Anyway, we had the lock in for the bible study last week. Those kids were really hyper. We had a good time though, especially with the karaoke time (this goes out to all of you who didn't think I could sing "Youth of the Nation" ). We had an American Idol theme to it also. And of coarse I was Simon! I didn't think refering one of the kid's singing to that of a drunken rat would have had such an impact.

Well the Bears are in the playoffs and they play in a couple weeks. I'm definately going to be watching some football these next few weeks. I move back to ONU next Sunday. Woohoo! Dorm life is so awesome. We start traveling for Omega this month too. I can't wait for that to happen. I might be trying out for the tennis team also. I'm not sure if I'm going to have time and what not but I'll see what happens. This is going to be an exciting semester.

I still don't know if I am going to go back to Mexico or not. I have been teetering the edge for a long time now. If you guys could keep me in prayer with my decision, I would be appreciative. I can't wait to start playing my guitar. I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year's and enjoy the rest of your break. God bless.  Showing His love, Jason.
