| Why is it called a building when it's already built? | | |
| Au revoir...I accepted a job offer from another company and yesterday gave my two weeks notice with Citi. The vice president said he was disappointed that I was leaving. Said I was on management's list of high-potential 'fast tracker', why would I want to throw away the credibility that I've built. Really... fast-racker... so you guys did noticed my work and the hours that I was putting in? Let's see... I've been with Citi for for two years, I'm making less than my starting job out of college. In our conversation, compensation came up, he gave me a counter offer. I graciously declined and did not want to enter a bargaining discussion. It's a little awkward, because you feel you're somehwhat blackmailing the employer. More importantly, it's a matter of principle. Department heads have budgets to balance and sometimes it's not in the cards. However, if there's a budget for a counter-offer, why weren't employees paid their real worth during performance review.
Sadly for my peers, my position might not be replaced anytime soon. My workload will be distributed among those already overworked. My friend (same age) who was promoted to manager, and has more load
than some of the other managers but paid 30% less. His promotion was
basically a title change. There's 18 people on our floor,. Including me three of us are leaving
the company this month.
Citi Never Sleeps... no kidding.
Looking forward: I will be volunteering at a cycling fundraiser for American Diabetes Association tomorrow. If I get any good pictures... I'll post 'em.

| Hi... it's been a while, feels like summer is just around the corner. Here's a light update on what's been going on...
Last month, I got a book (Fast food my way) autographed by TV chef... Jacques Pepin last month. The proceeds went to a good cause. Considered it an unofficial b-day gift to myself. Sadly, I don't watch cooking shows... so I didn't learn who he was until that day. Now all I have to do is eat smarter and cook more.
Last week, I changed my windshield wiper. Yay me... once I figured it out, it's really easy. If you need one replaced... hit me up.
Yesterday, I saw my name on a tombstone. The context: my parents bought four lots next to my grandmother's. On mother's day we went to the cemetery and I saw our new tombstone for the first time. All our names (Chinese and English) are on it. The names of those alive are marked in red and when they pass the letters are colored in black.
Today, ... took today off. Had a phone interview...it went okay. Yes, I've been looking... I'll know in two days if there will be a f2f. I've lot to say about my current situation... but I'll save it for another entry. On a lighter side... > I wish Monster would post more jobs in Hawaii :D mmmm... Hawaii > If I ever get a business card... I'd like my business title to say [Rogue Demon Hunter], now that's gangsta.
Current obsessions: Diet Sunkists. They taste great in a 12 FL OZ can. Democratic Primary NBA playoffs.. Go Pistons.
Latest amazon purchase: Tayshaun Prince (McFarlane series). This life-like creature is bring my team good luck.
