WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!
I (the twins mom) found something today that I'm thankful for about Disney World.. . . and didn't even know to be, until yesterday. . . .
Daddydean (the grandpa) is taking our family to Disney World in June. I looked up all the pictures on line to show the twins where we're going and to spark excitement! They were bouncing up and down with squeals of glee pointing to the rides and castle and characters that are there. Gideon asked, "Are Mickey Mouse and Goofy's son and Peter Pan there?"
"Yes!"
And Gabriel chimed in, . . "What about Captain Hook? I want to see his hook. Is it there?"
"Yep."
Then Gideon, "And the crocodile, and Snow White, and all the seven dwarves . . and Woody and Buzz? and . . and . . and . . ."
"Yes, Gid. They are all there."
"Wow!!" Gabriel said, "That's all of carnation!" (I don't know if he meant "creation" or "our nation". Either one makes me smile.)Then he continued questioning, "What about the evil queen with a poison apple? She ISN'T THERE ---'wight?'--cause she was thrown off a cliff--'wight?' But her apple. . . .is her apple wif the poison there?. . . . I want to see it."
"Probably not. I've never seen it there before." I replied.
"Well. . .", Gabe continued, "Is the Garden of Eden there? Or the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil?"
"No. . .they're not at Disney world. Why Gabriel? Why do you want to know that?"
"I just want to know what the fruit looks like."
His face looked a bit sheepish as though he wasn't sure if it was okay to want to know what made the forbidden fruit so enticing.
Then his eyes shifted to one side and he looked up as he hung his head, "I wouldn't touch it, though, mommy. I willy wouldn't."
And I could see his tongue poking into his cheek where a slight blush was appearing, trying hard to believe his words were true.

Why is it that Captain Hook's hook, the Evil Queen's poison apple, and the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil so interesting?
I would love to know what the fruit looked like myself! But at this age, I'll have to admit. . .I'm just as unsure as Gabriel as to whether or not I would touch it!
So today I find myself thankful for something new. . . . that Disney World does not display the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil! |
