Well, this will be my last entry on this xanga site (but I will be leaving it up for a few more months).  Oh yes, I'm sorry it took so long to do my final update, but I haven't had much access to the internet.  Well, it's been almost 3 weeks since I've been back from Japan.  I made it in to Springfield, and am somewhat moved into my apartment.

To see a slideshow of all my uploaded pictures from Japan, go to http://photobucket.com/albums/y257/japansummer2005/?action=view&slideshow=true

Here are a few picture from my time in Tokyo:

This is the entrance to Asakusa temple, one of the most popular Buddhist temples in Tokyo.

These pictures are from a bonsai garden

This is a view from Tokyo Tower.

The Rainbow Bridge.

Himoryku Gardens

Shinjuku - the section of Tokyo where I stayed.  Shinjuku station is the busiest station in all of Tokyo.  I *love* big cities!

Japan was awesome.  Thanks to everyone who supported me, through both through prayer and finances.  You are greatly appreciated, and I pray that God would bless you.

In Christ,

I'm currently at the Detroit airport...  my flight from tokyo was 11 1/2 hours.  The good thing is I was originally supposed to go to Minneapolis first, but that flight was overbooked so they moved me to a direct flight to Detroit, and bumped me up to business class!  (Although I was *hoping* for a free ticket...)
Business class is way nice though on long flights... each person has the space of about 3 1/2 of the coach class seats...  and you can stretch your legs out as long as you want to...  very nice...

I've been here for 3 hours, and I have another 3 hours before my flight leaves for Charleston.

Saturday I repacked my big suitcase to have it sent to the airport.  Then June came and met me in Shinjuku, and then we went to Odaiba.  Odaiba are the man-made islands in Tokyo Bay; it's made a bit futuristic like.

Sunday I overslept by about an hour, so I got a late start.  But, I first went to Akihabara (the electronic 'town' of tokyo) and found some Final Fantasy and Kindom Hearts stuff for some friends of mine at school.  Then I went to Asukusa to do some last minute souvineer shopping.  After that, I took a boat down the Sumida River to Himyroku Gardens, which is by the Tokyo bay.  The ponds are the garden are seawater ponds, and they rise and fall with the tide.  I took a lot of pictures are the garden.

I stopped in at the tea house there and had a bowl of green tea and sweet.  And by that time I was dead tired, and hopped on the metro back to Shinjuku.

It was very sad to leave Japan... very bitter sweet...

I will upload the rest of my pictures sometime later this week...

OK, I'm gonna' try to make this update short.  Last Tuesday I went to Matsumoto with Chimako and Teruko.  Here is a picture of Matsumoto castle:

Last Friday I went to a summer festival that Ai's kindergarden had:

This past Sunday we had a goodbye lunch after the morning service.  Both church people and students came to the lunch.

Really early Monday morning I left for Kyoto with Megumi (a student) and her husband.  While we were there we went to Kinkaku-ji (The Golden Pavillion) and Kiyomizu dera.  We also did some shopping =)

The Golden Pavillion

Kiyomizu dera
The Veranda is also called "The place of dancing for Buddha."  Also, people used to make a wish and then jump off the veranda.  Basically, if they weren't hurt their wish would come true, and if they died then it wouldn't come true.

This is the place where three of the streams come together, and is where Kiyomizudera got its name.  Drinking the water is supposed to bring good health.

Look!  I learned how to make spring rolls on Sunday night!

One last picture of Ai and Tako...

Right before I left on the train for Tokyo:

Ah, it was really sad to say goodbye to them all.  I really hope I get to come back some day to visit again...

I arrived in Shinjuku Wednesday about 4:30/5:00.  Thursday I went on a tour.  Today I met June in Machida for lunch.  I will see what tomorrow hold for me...

I have more pictures, but have to put them on my computer and such first.

Sorry I wasn`t able to do an update before I left Chino; I didn`t have the time.  But, I had a great time in Kyoto.   Got in late Tuesday night, and headed to Shinjuku (Tokyo) by express train and got in late afternoon/early evening.  I`m going on a tour tomorrow, so that will be fun.

I have lots of pictures to upload, but won`t be able to do it until I find a wireless connection; I`m using the hotel computer right now.

Oh, here is a link about the earthquake I felt Saturday: http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/asiapcf/07/23/japan.quake.reut/index.html

It was really small in Chino, but a 6.0 where it centered in Tokyo.  Hopefully there won`t be any more aftershocks while I`m here, as I`m here by myself and all.

Oh, and only 5 days till I head back home!  Hard to believe I`ve been here for two months already...

Well, I must go.  God bless!

I'm leaving for Kyoto in five hours... (at 6:30 in the morning...) so i don't have time to write an update right now.  I will update when I get back to Chino on Tuesday night.

God bless!
