| Well, this will be my last entry on this xanga site (but I will be
leaving it up for a few more months). Oh yes, I'm sorry it took
so long to do my final update, but I haven't had much access to the
internet. Well, it's been almost 3 weeks since I've been back
from Japan. I made it in to Springfield, and am somewhat moved
into my apartment.
To see a slideshow of all my uploaded pictures from Japan, go to http://photobucket.com/albums/y257/japansummer2005/?action=view&slideshow=true
Here are a few picture from my time in Tokyo:

This is the entrance to Asakusa temple, one of the most popular Buddhist temples in Tokyo.

These pictures are from a bonsai garden

This is a view from Tokyo Tower.

The Rainbow Bridge.

Himoryku Gardens
Shinjuku - the section of Tokyo where I stayed. Shinjuku station
is the busiest station in all of Tokyo. I *love* big cities!
Japan was awesome. Thanks to everyone who supported me, through
both through prayer and finances. You are greatly appreciated,
and I pray that God would bless you.
In Christ,
- Mona

| I'm currently at the Detroit airport... my flight from tokyo was
11 1/2 hours. The good thing is I was originally supposed to go
to Minneapolis first, but that flight was overbooked so they moved me
to a direct flight to Detroit, and bumped me up to business
class! (Although I was *hoping* for a free ticket...)
Business class is way nice though on long flights... each person has
the space of about 3 1/2 of the coach class seats... and you can
stretch your legs out as long as you want to... very nice...
I've been here for 3 hours, and I have another 3 hours before my flight leaves for Charleston.
Saturday I repacked my big suitcase to have it sent to the
airport. Then June came and met me in Shinjuku, and then we went
to Odaiba. Odaiba are the man-made islands in Tokyo Bay; it's
made a bit futuristic like.
Sunday I overslept by about an hour, so I got a late start. But,
I first went to Akihabara (the electronic 'town' of tokyo) and found
some Final Fantasy and Kindom Hearts stuff for some friends of mine at
school. Then I went to Asukusa to do some last minute souvineer
shopping. After that, I took a boat down the Sumida River to
Himyroku Gardens, which is by the Tokyo bay. The ponds are the
garden are seawater ponds, and they rise and fall with the tide.
I took a lot of pictures are the garden.
I stopped in at the tea house there and had a bowl of green tea and
sweet. And by that time I was dead tired, and hopped on the metro
back to Shinjuku.
It was very sad to leave Japan... very bitter sweet...
I will upload the rest of my pictures sometime later this week...

| Sorry I wasn`t able to do an update before I left Chino; I didn`t have the time. But, I had a great time in Kyoto. Got in late Tuesday night, and headed to Shinjuku (Tokyo) by express train and got in late afternoon/early evening. I`m going on a tour tomorrow, so that will be fun.
I have lots of pictures to upload, but won`t be able to do it until I find a wireless connection; I`m using the hotel computer right now.
Oh, here is a link about the earthquake I felt Saturday: http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/asiapcf/07/23/japan.quake.reut/index.html
It was really small in Chino, but a 6.0 where it centered in Tokyo. Hopefully there won`t be any more aftershocks while I`m here, as I`m here by myself and all.
Oh, and only 5 days till I head back home! Hard to believe I`ve been here for two months already...
Well, I must go. God bless!

| I'm leaving for Kyoto in five hours... (at 6:30 in the morning...) so i
don't have time to write an update right now. I will update when
I get back to Chino on Tuesday night.
God bless!
