Hide Feedback Box

If you want to hide the feedback box containing stars, eprops, and comments, just add this to your Header of your look and feel.  You'll need to select "Input your own Custom Header" in order for this to work.

Sites Redirecting because of Filelodge

We've been receiving steady emails about Xanga sites that redirect to another page (TXTHUB or other pages.)  We did some research and found that it's due to all files from filelodge.com.

To fix this, please go into you Look and Feel:

http://edit.xanga.com/claf.aspx

And delete ALL filelodge files from your code. In your Look and Feel, be sure to check your custom header, your website stats, and also your music field as well.  If you remove that file then the redirects should stop.

Removing Paypopup.html pop-ups on Xanga

We've been receiving emails about annoying popups appearing on various Xanga sites.  Most of them bring up a page with paypopup.html in the url.  The best way to remove these popups from your site is to go directly into your Look and Feel:

and delete scripts ALL scripts from coolcounters

If the script is not there, please check other places in your site - blog entries, or you profile, etc... If you still have trouble accessing your look and feel, use safemode as an alternative:

http://edit.xanga.com/safemode.aspx 

To this day, Xanga never uses popups for advertisements, and in fact, we find them to be very annoying and ruins the Xanga experience.  We contacted coolcounters about the issue and if a fix can not be made soon, we'll prevent the script from working entirely.

Opening up Chatboard and Memories

Some people have asked me why we have to be Friends for them to sign my Chatboard (or leave a Memory). Good question!  We set it up that way to prevent people spamming Chatboards and Memories.  But so many people have asked us to open it up, we thought we'd do just that.

Photo Server Maintenance

We will be performing maintenance tonight on the Photo servers early morning (April 5th) between 1:30AM to 5AM EST.  This maintenance will help the photo servers, so more and more photos can uploaded to the server

This will not affect the rest of the site.  During this time, photos will not sporadically appear.  If you're uploading a photo during this time, it may also get interrupted. Also, please note that 'emoticons' () may also be broken during this time.
