| On behalf of Nessa and Carines, we are asking for everyone's help - monetary donations OR just help with advertising this event, Binibining Florida which will be held here in Tampa on Saturday, December 16, 2006.
 
What is Binibining Florida?
Binibining Florida, or "Miss Florida" in English, is a beauty pageant and essentially a fundraiser organized by the Association of Filipino Students at the University of South Florida. With the help and support of various community organizations and the participation of other Filipino Student Associations from across the state, Binibining Florida will ultimately raise funds which will be donated to an organization that physically assists the destitute people of the Philippines.
You can help us by donating benevolent funds which will aid our organization's contestant as she competes for the title of "Binibining Florida" on the 16th of December this year. You can also contribute by purchasing pageant tickets or advertising space in the pageant's souvenir program which will be given to many college students and professionals in our community.
All proceeds from this affair will benefit the Philippine Medical Society's upcoming medical mission in March 2007 where free medical assistance will be given to the disadvantaged people of Iloilo, Philippines.

Other ways to help? You can either donate by check (email: Jaguinaldo@hotmail.com for the address), buy an ad, or attend the event.. which will include the pageant, dinner, entertainment, and dancing.. plus YOU MAY APPEAR ON TV.. TFC... filipino channel.

| Calling all DJs & Photoshop Geniusesit's October which means Breast Cancer Awareness month! the sisters of alpha Kappa Delta Phi at USF are planning on holding a Breast Cancer Fundraising Party called "Glowin' in Pink", October 28th from 10pm - 3am. While we have the venue, we are looking for a DJ and also looking for someone who is good at photoshop or any other photo applications to produce our flyer for this event. We are willing to pay for a DJ and someone to make our flyer. If you are interested in DJ-ing, please contact me via email (usf.akdphi.president@gmail.com) or via myspace with your name, contact information, the type of music you play, how much you charge, and some of your past events you have DJ-ed for. We are mainly looking for a hip-hop/reggae DJ. If you are interested in helping us out with our flyer, please also either email me at the same address or via myspace, any sample things you may have created (whether it be a flyer or not), how much you would be charging. The deadline for all interested people is this FRIDAY and I would like to start working on the flyer ASAP (I of course will provide details on what it should look like later). Its the annual event to kick off all the breast cancer awareness activities and fundraising as well as honoring the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. You must be 21 to go and it is $30 donation which includes entry, 2 pink martinis, a pink ribbon, entry in the raffle and appetizers. It's a very fun event, Please leave a msg if you are interested and want to attend! While USF aKDPhi is not a host of this event, we plan on attending it like we did last year. | | |
