It's almost been 2 years . . .

. . . or so my daughter tells me.  She said i should wait until March 7th to make it EXACTLY two years.  Me?  Well, I think that would be too contrived. So I'm posting today instead!  While this is a short post, it is indeed longer than my last which consisted of only 2 words!

I did post a couple of pictures, most taken in Spokane, WA back in November, 2007.

Maybe I'll post again in a couple of years!  :^ )

Myrtle's Day Out and Jenni's Broadway Wedding

I took Myrtle for a ride today.  She hasn't been out very much since sometime in October.  I don't know why I don't take her out more often because we always have a good time together.  I love the way she looks.  She's VERY powerful, quite comfortable, and she's EXTREMELY fast!

Yes, if you haven't guessed by now, Myrtle is my car -- a really sweet 1985 Mercedes 380 SL Convertible -- almost an antique.  I think a vehicle has to be at least 25 years old to get one of those cute "antique car" license plates.  I'll wait a while longer.

It was too cold to have the top down today, but I'm hopeful for some more warm weather later in the week.  (I decided to use this sentence AFTER revealing that "Myrtle" is my car!)  LOL

My dear friend, Marcia, is coming to town this week.  We are going to a women's conference/retreat in Fort Worth.  It will be wonderful to spend some time with her.  She moved to Seattle several years ago from Tulsa so it hasn't been very easy to visit.  In fact, I haven't been to see her at ALL since the family relocated.

She'll be flying back on Sunday, and it's probably best since I'm a long time Steelers fan!

Go STEELERS!

I had a dream this week.  It was about Jenni Johnson's wedding.  I dreamed that Jenni's wedding was like a Broadway musical, complete with little vignettes and choreography!  Huge numbers with LOTS of performers (all of the people we know), amazing costuming, and HIGH drama!

I was so relieved to wake up and realize that it was a dream.  It seemed SO real, and I was working HARD at learning Jenni's choreography for the grand finale!

Getting caught up . . . with home school, with home management, with hobbies, with friends, with business . . . some day I'll be on top of EVERYTHING.  Until then I'll just keep tackling it one task at a time.  I love my PDA.

Back from North Carolina!

We're back!  NC was good.  We sandwiched a ton of business meetings in with visiting family and friends -- saw the Macs, Johnsons, Turners, & Davon.  They're doing GREAT things in the Branch Family Church, and the church is really growing!  God is good.

Charis really enjoyed hanging out in Poppi's barn.  He has 3 horses.  Need I say more?

We got to see my niece's baby for the first time.  He is SO incredibly cute!  His favorite things in the world are firetrucks . . . and he says the word "fire truck" rapid-fire 200 times in a row!  He's one and a half so it's still really cute!  LOL

We were hopeful for snow while we were in NC, but it was warm the whole time.  It did thunder and lightning though while we were there so according to an old wive's tale, it will snow within 10 days.  Of course WE'LL be here, and the snow will be THERE.

Funny thing.  We were in the Charlotte airport and saw Chris Coleman and a friend.  They had been up in the mountains visiting family.  We were on the same flight from Charlotte back to Dallas.  After our flight Darin and I decided to go get our "Chipotle fix" by stopping in for one of the best burritos in the world.  Who walks in 10 minutes behind us?  Chris Coleman and friend.  Now what are the chances that - first - we would see them in the airport, be on the same flight, and then - second - end up in the same restaurant?

Someone do the math and then get back to me on that, OK?  LOL
