| So, I finally have something to blog about...Josh and I bought a house in Missouri! It is so cute. It is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom prefabricated home and we are going to put it on some property that my parents own. We are getting a basement poured as the foundation to set it on, and some day we are going to finish the basement. My grandparents live on the land as well, and soon my parents are going to build a house on it. For those of you who know MO, the land is in Cedar Hill. It takes about 10 minutes to get to the city of Hillsboro and about 15 minutes to get to Gravois Bluffs. We are so excited. They started digging the road today, and if the weather cooperates it should only take about 8 weeks to complete everything. Or course we can't move in till the semester is over, but we can start moving some things early. We are so completely excited about our first, and hopefully last, real home. I am still planning on transferring to Maryville University. I am going to try and get a job substituting for one of the public elementary schools nearby. So things are going really well. Chili's is still going good. But I can't wait to start substitute teaching. I need all the experience teaching that I can get before I start my career as a teacher. I am so thankful to God for all the blessing He has shed on my life. My amazing husband and wonderful family and friends. I know I do not deserve these things, but I am so grateful for them! God Bless. | | |
| Hello everyone! So, I am working at Chili's and I absolutely love it ... for the most part. I really enjoy the girls I work with. They are lots of fun. And my managers are awesome too. Josh and I are doing great. He is really liking his job, too. These past couple of days have been spent trying to find a Wii. We haven't had much luck. I am so ready for the semester to be over, but I am not ready for finals. So that is how these next five days or so will be spent...studying! I can't wait to go to Missouri for Christmas break. We only get to go for about a week, but I am excited. The dogs are doing great too. Hurley is getting really big and Sawyer is really starting to fill out. They are awesome dogs! I got asked to be in one of my friends weddings this summer, so I am also really excited about that. Josh and I spent all day yesterday christmas shopping, but we got it all done! That makes me very happy. I just have one more present to get, but that is all. We still have not sent out our "thank you" cards from our wedding and I think my mom is about to strangle us for this. We were going to type them out, but we have been having trouble with the program, so I think I am just going to write them out. For all you future newlyweds, DO NOT put your "thank you" cards off like we have. The guilt is really starting to get to us, that is why I am going to probably just hand write them out. Well, not much else to report. I hope you all have a very merry christmas and a truly happy new year. God Bless. | | |
| So ... I just got an email from Harding that said if you didn't make above a C in English 111 and/or 211, then you have to take English 249 or take a 90 minute essay exam. The exam is free, but it is also next week! And they are just now sending me an email about it! I took those english classes my first two semesters at HU, and they are just now telling me about this whole "above a C" thing!!! I am pretty upset about it, if you can't tell, becuase I made a C in both of those english classes. And it's not like I didn't try. I am just not a very good writer and I just happened to have a teacher that was very particular about what level of writing our assignments should be. Anyway, I am pretty mad! I get four chances to pass this essay exam, so hopefully I will pass it eventually.
Other than that, my week has gone pretty good. I have a lot of studying to do over the weekend, so that is what I will be doing all day today and tomorrow. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. God Bless. | | |
| Well, I started my babysitting job yesterday and I really enjoyed it. The little girl is lots of fun, and i got a lot of homework done while she took a nap. I am anxious to start tutoring. I think it is going to be a great experience for me. I have this really stressful assignment for my georapy class that I am about to start on. I have to read two books (about geography, of course) that I chose from a list of books that the teacher gave us, then outline each of them and write a paper connecting the books together. I ordered my two books off the internet, and I just got one of them in today. It is 272 pages long and, to my surprise, it is all about economics! I thought it was going to be about imnmigration (because of the title), but it isn't. I am so dreading this! Oh well, I guess things could be worse. Married life is still going great! Josh is awesome and I love being married to him. Our dogs are wonderful too! Well, I hope you all have a great evening. God Bless. | | |
