| Piatti's all-you-can-eat-and-puke Italian BuffetWent to Piatti's last night at 150 Eglinton Avenue East. I knew Frankie Tomatto's was bad for Italian buffet but Piatti's is only marginally better. They offer all you can eat pasta with a variety of add-ons but IMO it wasn't that good. The food had too much flavouring i.e. salt, cream, butter and the likes. After two small portions, I was already feeling rather ill. Granted I do prefer leaner and lighter food and rarely see this sort of "richness" as some people called it. The only good thing about the place had to be the appetizers. They were good but not great. A place can't be that good when your favourite appetizer was the potato salad. Seriously, how hard is it to screw up a potato? For those who are curious, the place is very nicely done up inside. But don't let it fool you when it comes to the food. The two just don't match. Oh, not to mention service was slow filled with miscommunication. I didn't want the crappy coffee! Would I go again? No. Hmm, I'll edit this later or something to give the place a full review. Off to bed.

| Boulder/Rock/Stone/PebbleYou ever get that feeling of being utterly useless when faced with a scenario? Ahhh it always happens to me. I feel like I'm condemned for life to be inept when it comes to being sociable. Give me a rock to hide under.
I just want to fix my car. -_-

| Best. Weekend. Ever. Maybe. Sort of.Pretty darn good weekend. Started off a little crummy but it really snowballed into one of the best that I've had in a long time. Saturday began with a trip to the western Doc's. An old injury to my right ankle, 8 years ago, began to act up again lately. Thought it had recovered from physiotherapy a few years back but it seems that was not the case. A familiar pain returned. Of course something always goes wrong and this time it did. The pain was compounded by a line drive that nailed me directly on the inside of my ankle at softball practice. It bruised up nice and swollen. Went to see the Doctor and had an X-Ray taken to see if anything might be broken. Doubtful but did it anyway and will have to wait a week or so to hear from him. I'm sure there aren't any out of place bones. Left to go to b00tz's bbq for our softball team and had some good times getting to know the other players, specifically Lester and to a lesser degree Sara. Very good times with lots, too much really, food to go around. With the food done, and leftovers aplenty, we went inside for some Guitar Hero and gaming for the next hour or so before getting ready to go to watch Penitence play their double header at Warden Park. Had to skip out on the first game as my mother phoned me to let me know that I had a last minute appointment with a Chinese Herbal Doctor. I made my way there and proceeded to be tortured by him for a good hour and a half. He spent the time massaging ancient Chinese secret medical formulas into my ankle with much vigour. It hurt a lot. He got my story and told me that my body never did recover from that initial accident based on what he could feel under the skin. Strongly suggested that I take a month to recover which meant no softball. Boo. Finished up the session with him bandaging my ankle with a layer of magical herbal medication underneath. Made my way to Peni's 2nd game to watch them play. They won. Went back to b00tz's place with team Grace while Peni's went their own way and we bbq'd the rest of the food and then some and ate well into the night. I feel fat. Too much red meat for one day. That was yesterday.
Sunday morning. Started off with the usual. Church service in the morning, which I wasn't late for for once. When I got there my fan club couldn't stop exclaiming at my on-time-ness. Fan club normally consists of Jeff and his mother but this week included his cousin. Sat through the sermon on the things that hold us back or rather "Rat in the House". It was good. References were to Joshua 6:27 to the end of chapter 7. Went downtown after and took Jeff, his mother, his cousin, and his cousin's mother on a tour of the city. Did that instead of hanging with the softball team as I would have been tempted to play in our game today had I stayed with them. That history course, specifically the sections on Toronto, really did come in handy as they commented that I should be a tour guide for the city. Cool! The route we took started from Eaton's where we ate lunch. Went down Yonge Street all the way to Front Street. Made our way East to St. Lawrence Market which was unfortunately closed for the day. Didn't know they weren't open on Sundays. Went down to the Lakeshore and walked along the Lake's edge all the way to Spadina. Had some fun seeing the places along the shore. Went to the skydome and the floor level of the CN Tower. Found it was too expensive to go up, $32/head, and went up to Chinatown and Kensington Market instead. A bird crapped on my head... Went up to Bloor Street and lounged at Second Cup for a while. Surprisingly my ankle wasn't acting up all day and my feet weren't yet sore while everyone was red-faced and pooped. Ho ho ho. Went to UT and showed them my college, Woodsworth. Went inside for a quick looksie before going to Robart's Library. Too bad they didn't have T-cards or else we would have been able to all go see the artifacts on the top floors. Left UT to check out Bay + Bloor for all its high end shopping places, ZZZ, and hopped the subway up to Yonge + Finch for Korean food. Totally sucked when I found a fly in my soup. Went to DQ after, more for Jeff than anything else and then back to his place to unwind. Chatted with him and his cousin and it was pretty good times. Got to know her a bit better while Jeff played MGS4. Now I'm home.
Yeah I realize this post is written in some of the worst English you can come across. It's mental diarrhea and I had to write it all down before I forgot.
She is cute.

| FailI had a bad feeling about this when I was first approached to be a "leader" in softball. Now I have proven my instincts true. I didn't pass the CCSA Umpiring Test. I didn't think I would have anyway. I am not fit to hold the position of "head umpire" as I have clearly shown that my knowledge of the game has deteriorated beyond a pile of refuse. At first people said I was only rusty. Having been away from softball for the past 3 years, I thought they might be right. Turns out I'm not only rusty, I'm rusted out through and through. I really don't have a firm grasp of the rules anymore and it definitely showed on the test. I suppose I will have to resign now. I don't think I'll be going to practice either. I hate softball.

| Goals for 2008For once, I'm setting goals for myself. To Do :
- pick up learning mandarin again - earnestly learn the chinese sword and work on my form, relearn all my spear and staff techniques as well - take up drawing/sketching again now that I've unlocked the key to form! - ... drop a few pounds... yeah... - continue learning about and fixing my 1989 Ford Escort LX (Edith) and my 1994 Ford Escort GT (Eden)
These are a few of the things I'd like to accomplish for the new year. Hmm.
