This is why I hate politics:
George Bush blames Congress for higher prices on gas, food, etc...
Congress blames George Bush for these higher prices...
Please do tell me how this stalemate of placing blame on everyone else is helping find solutions and lower prices?!?! Tell me how this fighting back and forth is helping Americans. How about you start cutting some Washington budgets to solve some of our economic problems. At this point I don't care who got us into the crisis I just want you to get us out of it!
What happened to politicians working to help their constituents? What happened to them having our best interests in mind? Oh yeah, it went out the window b/c having a higher paycheck, being better than the other party, and bickering are more important.
Here's part of why young people aren't going out to vote. What is the point in voting? Politicians (at least 3/4 of them) don't represent anything we stand for. They don't represent us. Politicians today represent themselves and walk all over the people they were elected on behalf of. Stop making endless, unrealistic promises. Start telling us how you're actually going to solve the issues of your platform. As a voter I feel like Obama and Hillary have forgotten I exist because they’re so wrapped up in bashing each other and staying one step ahead. Here’s a solid way to win votes: throw out your current tactics and choose a handful of issues that are important to a large majority of voters, work through those problem and give us a substantial plan on how you’re going to fix it. When you get elected stick to it. Don’t push your own hidden agenda.
Pet Peeve: Candidates have begun to buy the youth vote with free concert tickets and the chance to meet your favorite actor or actress. Why don't you give me the benefit of the doubt that I am intelligent enough to know the economy, the government, how things work and what might help our country? How did my opinion and my intelligence become equivalent to a $60 concert ticket, or a digital picture w/someone who's famous today and gone tomorrow. What happened to my opinions mattering and you (as possible representative of me) putting in the work and showing me that you're the right one for our country? A concert ticket isn’t going to make you a good president.
As a Hoosier I’ve been barraged with presidential campaign ads and phone calls. News Flash! Hillary is going to be in town today. Barack will be in a neighboring town tomorrow. They’ve visited nonstop for weeks, but once May 6th is over neither will give two thoughts about the people of Indiana or what we need.
So politicians....while you guys sit around and bicker about who's to blame for all the economic problems...the average American is putting in 8 + hour work days trying to pay for gas to get to our job, for our homes, for college, to buy food to feed our families and losing the battle b/c wages aren't enough to match the constantly rising costs. So any day now, if you’d like to stop wasting time and remember that I’m one of those people who elected you to do what’s best for me would be nice.
