I got older and became weary of when i would recieve letters or report cards from school. I still liked getting mail, but I was more cautious goal tending the mailbox at strategic times of the season. Eventually, I totally lost track of him (the mailman) he just sent me junk like army applications, voter registration awareness and college brochures. The mailman and were on different planets and I didn't care about what he dropped my way until recently. If my name is on it these days, it's from somebody who wants money that i don't have from me. No longer do recieve happy letters or cards or even annoying college brochures. E-mail has killed the need for mail men... we should just change their title to people who give out bills and useless shit... Let's save the reputation of mailmen everywhere, and write someone you care about a letter....

Sunday, March 23, 2008

Sometimes I don't dress as warmly as the weather prescribes. I see people bundled up for the winter weather, layered all the way up exposing only their eyes, for sight. I imagine their warmth and comfortability in these fluffed out feathers. Call me crazy, but I like the chill that the winter air provides once in awhile. The chill almost makes people walk closer together and makes the air taste fresh. It invigorates my lungs and it makes the warmth of a fire more powerful.

Saturday, March 22, 2008

Does anyone know what "xanga" means? Does it stand for something, or did they just say... hey... you know it would be cool if we named our site "Xanga"

Friday, March 14, 2008

Ever get that feeling that you're being punked?

Someone somewhere is playing a big joke on you.

I swear, somebody with a lot of power and influence is cracking up at the miserable state that I am in. Why is someone fucking with me? I mean... how can one person be so unfortunate?

"everybody needs to know it's the year of the rat"

Sunday, March 02, 2008

Let me set the scenario up for you.

You get a family recipe to make this really tasty bread from your significant other. You go and gather the ingredients and decide to make the bread for your grandmother who you are going to go see tomorrow morning. However, that night you decide to have people over to drink. After drinking and going out into the city, you return home and a few of your drunken friends come back to your house with you. You go upstairs to change and when you come down one of these guys has his face literally in the cake that you baked gnawing at it. He didn't even bother to cut a piece off...he had his mouth on the cake!

How would you feel?

This happened the other night to this girl. I was with the 4 culprits, but there was only one who took all the blame... the one who got caught. Eventhough I was innocent, I stayed up with my friends who hunted for the recipe and shopped for new ingredients to bake this cake. At around 6 A.M it was finished and we were all ready to pass out.

Friday, February 15, 2008

Over the years I've played and studied the game of poker.
Poker is a war between several armies vying for power (Money).
Your chip stack becomes your sword, your shield, and your food supply.
Managing all three components is a juggling act
By swinging your sword, your aim is to strike down an enemy and reap the spoils.
However, not only do you leave yourself open for attack, your food supply is at risk of becoming smaller.
Strength of cards can give false hope, allowing you to be crushed by your opponent, or it can deal the blow to your weaker opponent.
Strategy of poker is 30 percent cards/luck, 70 betting strategy

think of your position on the battlefield
hide your strength and weakness.
Research your opponent.
Do not make massive assumptions.
Assumptions, will be the death of you.

Retreat when you know you cannot win.

Friday, February 01, 2008

So I went to my business strategies course on Thursday, excited to feast on knowledge. A guest speaker had come to lecture on Risk Assessment. It was one of the more interesting lectures I've had the opportunity to listen to during my Graduate level education. It seems to be human nature that as we build more things to protect ourselves and "keep us safe" that we tend to become more reckless. With the installation of anti-lock breaks and air bags into vehicles, car accident levels have not really dropped that much at all. In fact, these device make us safe in case we get into a predicament. The lecturer joked that he imagines that if all cars had attached a metal spike to the center of each steering wheel pointing to the faces of the drivers, car accident levels would drop. When assessing a risk and with the attempt to manage that risk, you in turn create unseen risks that may be greater the addressed risk. However, perhaps the greatest risk that one can take, is taking no risks at all.

"A ship is safe in harbour, but that's not what ships were made for"
