Tragic news

Just found out today that my best friend when I was in Madagascar, Frederik Johannes Janse van Rensburg, died in a plane crash October 19th this year.

As long as I knew him he wanted to be a commercial pilot. I hadn't heard from him since leaving Madagascar, but it appears he succeeded and for that I'm happy.

An Erasmuskloof father-of-two was killed on Thursday when the plane he was in crashed in the Free State.

Businessman Nico Fenwick, a 42-year-old private valuator and owner of Fenwick Valuations, died in the crash near Petrusburg.

The pilot, FJ Janse van Rensburg, also died in the crash.

I'd pray if it would do any good, but I dearly hope that FJ had stayed strong in his walk with God. I just wish I knew that he knew God when he died. I've seen too many friends, strong Christians, walk away from their faith and I'm scared for those friends that I've not seen in years.

Anyway, I digress. "God, be with his dad and brothers. They're very alone right now."

Micah ....

I am sorry to hear about your friend. Despite having time and distance pass between the both of you, your memory of friendship will always be enduring.

..and ...well ...I like to think that even if we do not find God that He still finds us ... even in our departure from this world.

..take care ...

..jeanne...

Hey Micah,

I'm so sorry to hear that your friend died.

I don't know what to say and I won't begin to give advice...I'm just sorry that you lost your friend.

Pam

Hey Micah,

I know this time might be hard for you, but remember that God works out all things together for good. Even though it might not seem like that now, please remember that God is walking by you every day and will never leave your side. Find comfort in Him. I am so sorry about Fredrick. Just remember when you need a helping hand or someone to talk to, I am always here for you.

God loves you and so do I, big brother.

I was Fj's fiance. My name is Ami and I was with him in Kimberley the night before he died. I can promise that he had unyielding faith and though we feel heartbroken here on earth, he has risen because Jesus has defeated death and in Him, Fj is alive. I came across your comment by chance while searching for any related articles that may have any clarity as to how the accident happened.

i will be visiting his family this weekend as Joubert is back from France.

His family will be touched by your message.

I honestly dont think Fj had any idea how loved he is.

Ami
