Batten the Hatches

I think its a Tuesday or a Wednesday I'm not exactly sure. I'm 4 hours away from home and will be like this til the 22 of July. It's quite exciting yes, yet disappointing.
For those unaware, I'm at Valdosta State for my summer studying music and singing and all that fun stuff. My day consists of waking up at 6:30 and going to class til 12:30 then eating then being counseled (which I got jipped into doing) til 4, then practicing til 10 if i feel like it. fun.

I haven't visited this in quite some time, I don't find it exciting much anymore I guess you could say, what can I say I go with the trend. Perhaps I'll use this to tell you about everything going on.

Well first music has never moved me like it does now. Mr. R the conductor is amazing and passionate and finds the most perfect music to let us sing. I'm beginning to actually like Bach finally. We're singing this German song from him (Oh Shernenacht) and he was explaining it and the song itself is so amazingly beautiful and yadda yadda so I got all emotional and such. I wish my friends could get to experience this stuff cause its good. For the Atlanta people, we are performing at ACDA at Clayton State in Spivey Hall July 7th! I'm crazy excited. We're doing this insanely holy song then stopping and going into this latin piece where we sing demon again and again. I like his humor. So yeah, I could rant for a long time about that stuff.

Other stuff im learning...Mr. R is teaching me his philosophies of life about being content is far better than anythign you could ever feel. I'm learning theory, conducting, jazz studies and having an ear for music. Counseling isn't so bad. We meditate a lot.

I miss Christian a lot. I definitely need to see him soon because it really is driving me mad. That's the one thing I hate about being here. I hear all day about how its murder to come here with a boyfriend cause supposedly everyone hooks up and from the sights im seeing I gotta agree. But I'm not like that.I miss him a lot and I constatnly think about him. I'm sending him some good things in the mail and he made me a rap mix so I can go to the musical loving chorus folk and blast NWA with the bass and all that good stuff. yeah i'm pretty excited about that.

Everything Is Illuminated

Dear Dear...

If you want to come on down, down with your bones so white, And watch the freight trains pound into the wild, wild night.....

These pictures are from a certain day when a certain love and i went along with a cousin went photo taking at an abandoned factory. It was amazing, everything was scattered about as if someone was returning. The electricity was still about the fridge accompanied with occpants, even smutty magazing strewn about the office.
I miss this day, with matching outfits unexpectedly and Spanish Coke along with "Everything is Illuminated," Sunflower houses, and a wake up "i love you."
I understand I can be rather sappy, but I couldn't explain everything without the sap.
Maybe I'll find time to do this again. That would be nice.
take care you loves,
Amy

Time has not reached my hands in a while sooo my updates have been minimal. But this should change, we have a week off and the people I see the most are gone, so I sit here watching movies and having a social life throught the internet. thrilling? i know.

This was the first mellow weekend since a while. Two weeks ago I saw a lovely lady I adore: Feist!
I cannot describe how much this night meant to me. It was my favorite show I've ever been to. It was better than her cd. I got to spend it with a love and a lovely Will.
Jason Collett opened and was fantastic, Feist was amaing, every single part of her performance blew me away.  During "2 Little Lambs," she sang acapella  and recorded multiple tracks
(8 to be exact) and ended the  song singing in  8 parts. It was fantastic!!

She ended the show with "Let it Die," which was brilliant. She told everyone to grab a partner and slow dance and Christian and I participated.
My favorite song was "Secret Heart," and if you haven't seen her live I truly recommend it.

Ok Weekend Next....Of Montreal! This time was with Charles, Emily, Amber, and Christian! It was a four piece show. Some band I didnt like played first and then third was some dj. 2nd was Grand Buffet, a duet of rappers , talking of Satanism and Drugs. They were weird, but made me laugh. Of Montreal was genius, they played my favorite songs and we got right at the front so it was fun. Charles got the setlist in Of Montreal and I got the one in Feist.
This past week has been composed of a lovely Valentines Day , Chrsitian is lovely as is each tiem with him, other things have been a lot of school, lack of sleep, hanging out with Mr . Cammarda, some unwanted Drama and now Freedom for a week.

happy livin'

Will You Still Love Me?
By Julie Doiron
see related

I realized something today.
I love choral music and the idea of being a chorus teacher, it's what I've based most of my future plans on.
I realized today that the only thing that really interests me hobbie wise is the passion that comes with singing and performing. It's not my passion to teach others, but to show them passion. Although risky and dreamlike, I do want to be a musician or a performer of some type.
And I've been missing something, I haven't written a song in ages and have been trying to do so for so long. Reason: English ruins my life; therefore, I am getting out. That's right, breaking free and actually having a life to enjoy with my dear and my music.
  I feel a change a comin.
