There’s a necessary dying,

and then Jesus is breathing again.

Very little grows on jagged rock.

Be ground.

Be crumpled,

so wildflowers will come up where you are.

You’ve been stony for too many years.

Try something different. Surrender.

~Rumi

friday night we got all pretty n waitressed (sp) for the mission year banquet (or ellie's birthday extravaganza as we like to call it)

then saturday morning we wore XL yellow t-shrits and pulled weeds and moved dirt

our kids were beasts out there, and i was VERY proud of them

then we cleaned ourselves up and went to the CeCe Winans concert as Gospel Fest in Millenium Park. it was a lovely time. and she is so pretty.

then sunday was the big book fair downtown for miss ellie's 23rd birthday! woo

*i guess i could be put a picture of a book or something here, but i won't*

and somewhere in there we got to spend some time with these lovelies

i've grown quite fond of this city.
