| This week I got news that one of my classmate's parents died. I wasn't particularly close to this classmate but I did know her and her family. I just can't believe it happened. Can't imagine what the family is going through... we just graduated from HS and now this. If this was God's will, he has really sucky timing. | | |
| Unbe-freaking-lievable.Today I saw former President Bill Clinton on the campaign trail for Hillary. I was front and center. I'm not even sure I support Hillary for President, but he is still a good speaker. He talked for about an hour. I don't mean to sound star-struck, but I actually shook the man's hand! He read my friend's t-shirt aloud (it was a Kiss T-shirt, but hey) and she just about died. I couldn't believe it was him up there on the little stage. I sort of thought he was a hologram up until he shook our hands. Still in shock! My grandma was right beside me and trust me, she couldn't have been happier. My mom and other grandma were also there. And you know, a lot of what he said about Senator Clinton's strategies for universal healthcare and rescuing the economy made sense. I still just don't know what to think about any of the candidates. When I got home, I told my dad about it and he said, "Well, you have to hand it to him. He's slick. He got out of a marijuana investigation and survived a major sex scandal, and people around here still listen to him and think he's an alright guy." Mr. Clinton is a politician for sure-- but one who knows what he's talking about, even though the media paints him as a meddler in his wife's campaign. One thing, though. I don't think Senator Clinton should take credit for things that he did, even though I'm sure as First Lady she had a lot to do with his decisions. Sooo... I took advantage of a once in a lifetime chance to see a President on a half-day at my school, while my brother played video games and my friends that aren't old enough to vote went shopping. Waaay better use of my time. | | |
