  • Thar she grows!

Things are progressing here.  We have beautiful, new carpet in and are still in the (longer than expected) phase of organizing things into their permanent home for when the little miss in my belly graces us with her presence.  Still trying to go through old things as we organize, and give more away to Goodwill.  No one needs this much STUFF, and it will be a continual goal of mine to keep simplifying.  THe only mostly finished room is our bedroom, where the baby will sleep for the first few months.  Below is a picture of the cradle we'll be using, which is the one my grandpa made me when I was a baby.

I'm almost 33 weeks along now, poking out more than ever.  Work/school has been going well.  I'm on my OB rotation, which is interesting when you're pregnant.  I've seen 2 vaginal births and a c-section, and haven't been traumatized as of yet, so yeah!  Knowing more about childbirth helps me more in the preparation, really.  Although I haven't seen anyone deliver without an epidural, so if I make it there, that will be a new frontier.  Next week I start working at the internal medicine outpatient clinic that I worked in last fall, which should be nicer hours and a less busy schedule.  I'm definitely ready for that.  I spend 4 weeks there, and then break from August 1 on, waiting for the little one.

That is most of how we've been doing.  Michael and I do a childbirth and a breastfeeding class in July, so it's a busy month!  Hope everyone's summer is going well.

Our bedroom.  Cradle, rocker, changing table (well, dresser, but you get the idea...)  The keyboard won't be a permanent fixture.

My mom and aunt made a bumper pad especially for the cradle...how nice!

    I think he'll be a good dad.  :)

This Thursday I will be 30 weeks pregnant.  3/4 of the way done!  Woo hoo!  I'm starting my OB/GYN rotation this week and will be on call and hopefully get to deliver some babies!  (and hopefully not be scarred by seeing bad deliveries!)  After this rotation, I go back to the office where I initially did outpatient medicine for my last month before taking time off to pop out this kiddo.  Hopefully, I'll waddle my way successfully until then.  :)

Below are some 28 week pics of me and the girly in my belly.

  • Reality

With the influx of all things infant related into my home, it's becoming more apparent that someone else will soon live here with Michael and I.  There are boppys, head supports, bottles, sterilizers, diaper bags, strollers, blankets, and more pink clothes than one could count.  (That's actually not true; I did count.  I have a catalogue of what I have for each age, because not knowing was driving me bonkers.)  There is stress, which will hopefully decrease in about 2 weeks when our new carpet will *finally* be put in and I can **finally** be able to arrange furniture and baby items into their final resting place.  Praise the Lord.  I can hardly stand the clutter.

We had a great, but short, visit home and baby shower.  I got to see wonderful friends from church, relatives that I haven't seen in awhile, and I felt very loved.

Rose and Jim have visited us for the past few days here in Georgia.  It has been a wonderful blessing that I am doing ER this rotation, which allows me to choose my schedule, so I've been home with them so far this week.  I think my aunt and maybe my mom/step-dad get to come in the next month or so as well, so that will be nice.
