Plastic stuff and tickets.

So there's a new law saying you cant talk on the cell phone and drive at the same time. I guess its pretty necessary concidering that accidents have increased due to cell phone conversations, and I know for sure that at times when i drive and talk on the cell phone i am a less aware of the road. BUT because i know this, i try my best not to talk on the cell phone while i'm driving, or if i do, i usually keep the conversation to a minimum. And in the past if i am driving and talking i try my best to focus on the road. It just sucks that because of others who might have been less careful while driving and talking on the phone, the general populus(sp?) has to suffer. Sort of like how now products sold in stores have excessive packaging or packaging that is rediculously hard to open because of shoplifters. Now instead of having simple minimal packaging we have all these seals or precautionary seals that say something like, if this seal has been brocken be careful/dont buy it. For example, this bottle of gummy vites has that extra plastic wrap on the top now (in addition to the seal on the inside). This spnidle of dvd+r's has that extra plastic stuff wrapped all around it, and a snapple bottle has that extra plastic stuff around the lid. So because of shoplifters we have to pay more for this plastic stuff and i'm sure a lot of that plastic stuff just ends up in the garbage and the landfill. Oh... and i hear they charge extra on an item, to account for people that steal things.

So back to the point, yes now there's a law that doesnt allow people to talk on the phone while driving...because of careless drivetalkers CRAP. Its rather inconvenient because i cant call someone if i get lost and need directions, if i'm picking someone up and i wanna call to let them know i'm almost there, i'd have to arrive first and then call. So the alternative is using my bluetooth headset which also means, everytime i get in the car, i'd have to activate it stick it in my ear and then sync it to my phone. But the problem is, i never really know when i'm gonna get a phone call so why bother if i might not get any calls while i'm driving (and i usually dont plan on getting lost when i'm driving). So then if i dont put it on at the beginning, this means i'd have to sync it and put it on while i'm driving before i can pick up a phone call. So because of all this hassle, i'm sure a lot of people skip the headset and risk getting tickets. In the end because of careless drivers, the general populus(sp) has to risk getting a ticket now everytime they want to use their phone in the car.

So for the time being i wonder if there are any acceptions to the law. For example, is it ok to hold the phone in front of me and use the speaker function... because... essentially, thats the same thing as say... Holding a banana and talking to a friend in the car .... right? Is it ok to text while driving? its kinda like using  a calculator while driving (though i doubt texting is allowed). But its probably not OK to text since it counts as "operating a phone". Is it ok to park somewhere and talk on the phone while the car is still on? What if i happen to park... at  red light and the car's not moving, can i talk on the phone then and just make a quick call? Technicalllly... i'm not driving, i'm just parked and I happen to be in the middle of the road.

1. English is difficult/dumb. LoL i've come to determine that further and farther are the same word.
2. By the end of may 2009, conan o brian will be taking over jay leno's spot on the late night show.
3. Batman has sort of a lisp going on.
4. Our economy will be in trouble, even more so,if gas prices keep rising. ( guess i'll write more on that later)
5. The "War on Terrorism is stupid"
6. Vitamin water seems to be getting popular.
7. My moms freaking random (reminder to self bathtubs)
8. Global warming is becoming a big issue.

The number one movie in America...

  "<Insert movie title here> is the number one movie in America." what really qualifies a movie to be the number one movie in America and who's deciding this? lol this past week i saw an add on TV saying hancock was the number one movie, but earlier that day the radio said Hellboy was the number one movie. So what movie is actually the number one movie?  Anyways, i got to see both hellboy and hancock and both movies were mediocre. Hellboy didnt make enough sense for me to enjoy but the visual element was pretty sweet... actually that movie didnt make much sense at all. then hancock was fun but nothing that wowed me.  So what movies did i enjoy more than these two?


So the other two movies i enjoyed more were Wanted and The Dark Knight. The action in Wanted was rediculous and kept my attention really well cuz(because) there was action almost all the time, and the movie was very fast paced. But you have to take the movie with a grain of salt and you kinda have to ignore a bit of physics. its kind of like a combination of the matrix and fight club where the main character learns to bend the rules (like in the matrix) and has to escape from the boring and dull life of a corporate monkey and join some sort of recreational club that destroys stuff ( like fight club). Overall the movie was pretty badass. <subliminal message> Go watch Wanted</end subliminal message>


Next movie i enjoyed was  The Dark Knight, the movie is long but it has a good pace ( am i even spelling that right... pase.. no that cant be right) Heath ledger's performance as the joker is rediculously good, he nails it on the dot and outshines everyone. The dialog was pretty thick, but not too cheesy.

ANYWAYS, my point is, go watch both these movies: Wanted and The Dark Knight. They're both better than the both "number one movie(s) in America."

GUESS WHOOOS BACKKK

I'm back! Its been such a long time since i've posted in this thing, everythings all different... on xanga and in life. It took me the longgesst time to figure out how to put up a new post. Actually life is not so different. One thing thats different is... i finally graduated and finished school at ucsd... got my masters, and now i finally have some free time... to post and update. Dang... i have nothing to post about. i guess i'm pretty boring.

I guess i'll talk about graduation. So I took a bunch of grad classes this year, and at the end of your educational career at ucsd you have to take a comprehensive exam on the classes you took in the past year. In a sense its kind of like a super final because they can ask you any question from any of your classes, but generally they stick to the basic concepts just to make sure ur not dumb. So for an hour, three professors asked me questions about fluid mechanics, environmental engineering, and material science and I have to sit or stand there rather and write the answers on the white board in front of the professors. Questions would be like... write the navier stokes equation and set it up for a flow between two plates where one of them is staying still and one of them is moving at speed U. the environmental question was on life cycle assesments of solar panels. and the materials questions were like... why are there defects at room temperature, draw a simple cubic structure, draw a eutectic diagram. All the basic concepts of each field just to make sure i'm not dumb. So i pass the fluids and environmental portions and fail the materials science portion. LoL i am confirmed dumb. But luckily i was able to retake it a week later and passed in time for graduation. (Graduation pictures will be posted later i guess).

Oh yeah, i went to anime expo this past saturday with a couple of my friends. as always i was very impressed with all the anime fans going all out. I ended up going to watch howls moving castle in the middle fo the day and just sleeping on some seats cuz i was so tired from playing rockband the night before. Ummm... yup so here's the link:
