the crazy times of life...

what a crazy year it has been.
i'm looking forward to doing a year-end post
highlighting the highs, the lows, and the whaddas????

tonight, with only two days to go
until my holidays begin, i was scurring
through the west side with a friend
i haven't seen in two years.  erin davies is a
twu business/drama grad turned debt consolidationist
and professional performing artist... (lizzy she says 'hi!')
checking out her first 2007 performance in january!

in the event of  'oh crap, two days and i still haven't
finished the gift shopping' i run into fine and lovely
near south granville...
...love this city.

not sure if i blog-announced it,
but i'm about to jump into a full-time career change
in january.  joining the ranks with this lady,
only here in vancouver, and ms. groot, and belle steph.
only another $2500 to raise by the end of this month
and i'm good to sign a contract.

anyone want to help send a missionary?  ;)

holidays...my parents are celebrating 25 years
next week.  they're sending all us kids to join them
in sunglasses and board shorts for sun, surf
and scoot-scoot-scootering in puerto vallarta.
they're too cool.

so that's the update...
...back to the christmas cards, k-os and my fave,
STASH licorice spice caffeine free herbal tea.

blessed days upon you.

The ICE Idea

From Pastor Jim Flom in Agassiz:

A recent article from the Toronto Star, "The ICE Idea", is catching on and it is a very simple, yet important method of contact for you or a loved one in the case of an emergency.

As cell phones are carried by the majority of the population, all you need to do is program the number of a contact person or persons and store the name as "ICE".

The idea was thought up by a paramedic found that when he went to a scene of an accident, there were always mobile phones with patients, but they didn't know which numbers to call.   He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally recognised name to file 'next of kin' under.

Following a disaster in London the East Anglican Ambulance Service has launched a national "IN CASE OF EMERGENCY (ICE)" campaign.  The idea is that you store the worked "ICE" in your mobile phone address book, and with it enter the number of the person you would want to be contacted "In Case of Emergency".  In an emergency situation, emergency services personnel and hospital staff would then be able to quickly contact your next of kin, by simply dialing the number programmed under "ICE".

It really could save your life, or put a loved one's mind at rest.  For more than one contact name simply enter  ICE1, ICE2, ICE3 etc.
