| | On November 7, 1992, a homeless woman took her own life in Los Angeles.
You don't even see them at first. They don't sleep in boxes, or ask for spare change. But so many women in this country are invisible victims of homelessness. For various reasons.....some are victims of abuse....others have chronic illness....some have deadbeat ex-husbands who won't pay child support.
"It Was a Wonderful Life" is a documentary focusing on several women in Los Angeles, and the difficulty they have in trying to live. By the end, only one was able to get things turned around. The rest either continued living in the land of red-tape and police bigotry (one lost her car/home and 3 dogs because it was illegal in that city to live in a car), or in one case, took their own life.
