Summer has started and I'm already missing Santa Cruz! if I had a choice, I think I would start Freshmen year of college all over again. 'Twas a fun and enjoyable experience. It was a really good year and I'm glad that I met Vikki...although I miss her terribly...

WOW...i haven't posted or written on this site for a good three months. that is a really long time! i keep on telling myself how i would definately go on xanga and post how college is going for me so far...but i keep on putting it off. finally, found the time today..haha so uh...who still reads xangas nowadays? anyone?

    What's been happening lately:

-So i've been in college for a good three months now and i'm loving every minute of it. the campus is just so nice and beautiful. sometimes after dinner, i would just simply walk around the campus and admire the simplicity of it, the nature of it, and the beauty of it. college is definately very different from high school and i'm loving it! everything is on you; WHEN you do your homework, WHEN you study, and WHEN you party. at first, i thought i would be scared of the huge amount of people in the lectures, but overtime, i got used to it. its really not that bad at all. come to think of it, its actually a whole lot better than the small classes in high school. there's a lot more "freedom".  haha yeah. there are times where we party hard, and there are times when we study hard.

-we've reached the end of the 1st quarter now and all i can say is that it was pretty smooth. the hardest class that i've had was Intro to Psychology. Instead of having midterms or finals, we have "quizzes". they're basically the same thing, but i guess some professors like to call them quizzes. whatever. Film 20A: The Film Experience is a really good class actually. the lectures might be a little ubber boring, but if you write good papers and attend lectures/discussions regularly, you're guaranteed an A or B. i was glad that the professor didn't show mainstream films, but more independent films from other countries. it gave us, students, a chance to explore other films beyond "mainstream" Hollywood. then there's CORE class. Yes. its one of those classes where you HAVE to take it. quite similar to the classes that we took during our freshmen year in high school; Health Ed., Drivers Ed., and Career Ed. CORE class is THE most boring class on the face of this earth. at first, it was very interesting, especially for our first paper. but as time went by, and we begin to write on the same topics over and over again, we start to lose interest.

-the food in college is pretty satisfactory. there are times where the food is unbearable, and there are times (like once a week) where the food is pretty good. its nice to see almost everyone walk out with 5-6 dishes on their trays after they're done. as for me, i'm eating a lot, but at the same time, trying to stay away from the Freshmen 15. hahaha

my roomate and floormates are pretty chill and very awesome (one in particular )! i guess i can say i live on the party floor. there are people that get pretty butt-wild like every other day of the week. once in awhile, i get buttwild with them too! haha come to think of it, now that Winter Break's started for us, i've been missing Santa Cruz more than San Francisco. i don't really know why, but i guess now i'm more used to the freedom of being by myself with my friends and doing whatever i want. simply put, more independent. doing things whenever i want and wherever i want....and not have anyone go after my ass or put second thoughts in my head about what to do.

also going off campus is pretty awesome, although it does sort of get boring after going to the same places time after time. but what's so awesome about downtown is that is very convenient. there's a Longs Drugs and a Safeway right next to each other. there's also two movie theatres and plenty of japanese restaurants !!! lately, we (Jared , Vikki, and I ) have been spending loads of  $$$ on this place. we should stop. hahaha yay. so like every other week, my friends; Ted, Jose, Nolan, Vinson, Jared, Bea and i would go to downtown and visit the L8 Buffet (they have student discounts). The best place so far has got to be Streetlight Records, they sell most DVDs and CDs for the cheapest prices!!! being the movie buff i am, this is heaven.

in short, College is OH SO AWESOME!!!!

It's been five years. Five years. R.I.P to all the people who had their innocent lives taken away on that unfaithful day. It's also been five years since the President of the United States had a ''wakeup call'' that his job is not easy. Apparently, he hasn't really done anything about it and has been targeting the wrong people since.

-So I was bored one day and I decided to check out some stuff on YouTube. Turns out, someone uploaded the entire miniseries about Michael Jackson and his family. It was a pretty good miniseries. I gotta say, the way Michael Jackson's dad treated him and his brothers...that was some crucial stuff. But then again, if he wasn't hecka strict on them, then Michael probably wouldn't be the King of Pop and as successful the way he is today. Also, it sort of tells you why MJ is so weird nowadays. Its a good miniseries, you guys should definately check it out. Just type in "The Jacksons: An American Dream" on YouTube and it should pop up.

-Summer's coming to an end. In many ways, its about time that school should start for me. I mean, almost all of the colleges have already started school. Berkeley being the earliest i think? Is that true Mary? haha you guys have like the public school schedules. I'm definately looking forward to college and moving into a whole new city that's sort of far away from home. I think I'm going to be homesick...but then again all of us have got to "come out of the dark and into the light" (allegorically speaking). I guess the reason why I'm nervous is probably because of the classes that I'm taking and how HUGE the campus is. From what my friend Herman has told me, he said that Psychology has about 200-300 people in a class. At that rate...how am I going to ask questions or if I'm confused about stuff, who's going to be there to help...? iono...maybe everything'll turn out ok in the end..? who knows? but yeah...I guess it takes some time to adjust and what not.

-For those of you that have already started class in college, how does it feel? Were all of you guys as intimidated as I already am? Did it take some time to get use to/adjust to? Ugh...maybe I'm really overeacting here. But please, if you guys do read this blog, please leave some comments! I really am interested in how college works and stuff...thanks!

-Dude. This summer, has been, by far, the best summer I've had. It was just so awesome and wonderful to chill with all of the homies! Ever since the day we've graduated til now, I still can't believe that we're going our seperate ways. College will definately be different than high school. From what I've heard, its harder to meet people because of everyone's schedules. But yeah...I'm really going to miss all of you guys! It'll probably be awhile before we'll see each other again! These three months of summer was definately a moment to cherish and remember. Again, thanks to all my friends!!! 4 years of high school man...gone in a blink of an eye. Even though its time for a new start and a new school, you guys'll always be in my mind.

-I'll try to update about how things are going once I've officially settled down at UCSC. Hopefully by then, I won't be as nervous and worried as I am now...maybe things'll turn out fine. I'm a pre-Mustang and a newborn Banana Slug!!! yay!!!!
