| Haven't updated for a while.
I've had a few tests recently. I've got low A's on both my Fluids tests, and low B, a low A and a 100 on my Mechanics of Materials tests. A 104 and an 85 on my Fundamentals tests. Some sort of A on my Stat tests. And my most suprising, the 93 on my Modern Physics II test. That was the one I was most scared of.
The Gateway Round Robin was last weekend. Isaac didn't do too terribly hot in the rounds, but he got a 146 out of 150 on his test so I was happy.
In lifting news, I just missed my 400 attempt on bench. Now I'm starting my cycle back over for the USAPL American Open in December. I'm hoping this time I can finally hit my 451-374-451 RAW. I think I'll stick with the 242s this time.
In non-school, lifting, or Bible Bowl related news. Well, I suppose it's somewhat Bible Bowl related. Angelina and I have been together for over 3 months now. The distance sucks, but it's worth it. I'm happy.
The End.

| This weekend went great.
The Early Bird went off mostly without a hitch. A few technical difficulties with the copiers and printers and computers, but we had all the questions and the test ready to go on time. Until we discovered halfway into a round that Josiah had written the round with too many chapters. So we had to throw it out and he got to write another round. Matt Entrekin (my roommate/teammate from senior year) ran the office and his mom came out and helped him with that. I organized the questions and quizmasters and such and wrote 6 rounds and the test. We had 16 teams from Kansas, Missouri, Ohio, Minnesota, Indiana, and Arizona. Isaac played by himself since his sister was sick and went 5-10, but he played pretty well considering I haven't practiced with him this year. I quizzed all 15 games with a cold, so my voice was shot, and still is, but it was fun.
After the RR I went up to Columbia with Angelina's (my girlfriend) family and we stayed there. Then in the morning we made the trek to Cedar Grove so Angelina could meet the family and vice versa and see the little church out in the middle of nowhere. Then the Krueger's came over to Dad's house for a while and then headed back off on their 24 hour drive to Arizona. It's been a long weekend, but it's been nice, the Early Bird was a success and everyone really seemed to enjoy it and I got to see my girlfriend for the first time in 2 months. Now it's back to homework. Not nearly as exciting.

| I'm a week and a day into school.
Reactor Fluids will be a tough class, but it's with Dr Mueller and he's a good teacher and will make it doable.
Fundamentals will be pretty easy.
Mechanics of Materials is a weird deal, we don't have actual lectures, just "problem solving sessions" where we go and work on problems with classmates and the professor.
Modern Physics II looks challenging, but again I have a good teacher and I already know a good deal of what's going on since I'm a Nuke.
Engineering Stat looks relatively easy. Last year all the Stat teachers were Chinese Grad students and I heard some horror stories about htem from my friends, so I was relieved to see Dr white guy when I walked in the room, he's also a good teacher.
So I've got some tough courses, but all my professors are great so I think I'll be able to manage.
I also benched 385 today. Making good progress on my goal to 400 by October.

I'm in Rolla now. I moved into my aparment on the 16th, right after my birthday. Which was the 15th. And now I'm 20 and officially old. I start class next Monday. I'm taking:
Reactor Fluid Mechanics Fundamentals of Nuclear Engineering Mechanics of Materials Modern Physics II Engineering Statistics
I couldn't get into a humanity this semester.

| Raw Nationals. | My RAW Nationals results:
I weighed in at 220.01 lbs/99.8 kg. But I made it. 18-19 age group.
Squats: After seeing the squats all weekend I dropped my opener by a lot.
Attempt 1, 363: 2 red lights for depth, even though I clearly broke parallel and then some, but everyone was getting Jewed equally, so I won't complain.
Attempt 2, 363: 1 red light for depth, even though this one was higher than the first one.
Attempt 3, 396: 3 whites, left plenty of pounds on the stage, but there was nothing I could do about it.
Bench:
Attempt 1, 330: Easy lift.
Attempt 2, 347: My left hand locked out before my right, so 2 red lighter even though I got it up.
Attempt 3, 347: Head judge decided my wraps were too high on my wrists so I had to get up and try to rewrap with about 40 seconds. Didn't get them back on in any sort of helpful way, laid down, the spotter almost dumped the bar on my stomach, but I caught it halfway down, locked it back out, got my start, press, and smoked it. I was so pissed. The bar didn't come off the rack until about a second after my minute passed, but they were nice since they didn't bother noticing my wraps on the first two lifts. Good lift, 3 whites.
I feel like I had a 357 or 363 in me, but since they redlighted my 2nd attempt, I didn't get a chance to try it.
Deadlift:
Attempt 1, 396: About an inch from locking out and lost my balance. No lift.
Attempt 2, 396: Got it just fine this time.
Attempt 3, 419: Got it an inch off the ground, no chance at all.
So I made 396-347-396. Not what I wanted by any means. I won bench by 20kg in my class, but the dude outsquatted me by 100+ and outdeadlifted me by 200+. So I got killed. |
I'll get the videos on youtube sometime soon. http://www.youtube.com/user/LinkBurchett There, go there to see my and Becky's best lifts. | | |
