| 2007 xanlog back???hello my friends,
sorry for disappeared for a long time. xanlog was down for a year sth due to the unexpected resources it consumed, and I could not handle it myself.
i'm now thinking to bring the xanlog back as i actaully love it, its my baby, and now i have more time to care it than before.
however things changed a lot such as the xanga's policies, and there are many similiar 'products' nowadays(though the oldies are still the leading ones) but I do not know much about them. what function they provided? what function you guys needed but couldnt find on them??
and the most important thing is,
is there anyone still need xanLog?
i need some supports to do it. please leave me some comments, suggestions or just a 'support' msg.....

| there'll be some changes in xanlog...
the countries' flags functon will be removed for most of the users, if
you wanna know where the stalkers from, there'll be a new function
allowing you know the countries by typing the stalker's ip
i know there's some bugs in "view details", in order to solve the
problem and have better security/privacy, it will be run under a
membership scheme. i.e. you have to login before viewing the details, i
know its trouble, but i guess it could solve the problems. i will
implement these changes when i have time. take it easy, it's not going
to charge you any at this moment
moreover, i heard some of you got the same problem that the xanlog
doesnt work at all, i'm not sure whats the reason. if you got this
problem, u may try to remove all the skin u used and the place the
xanlog's code as the only code in webstats. if it still doesnt work,
please let me know.

| well, while i'm monitoring the server status, i realized that it REALLY COST MUCH RESOURCES!
at first i thought maybe there're some guys attacking the server, but finally i found that's not the case...it loaded so heavily just becoz many ppl using it...or i should say xanga is too famus.
imagine there're 100,000 processes in an hour, and each process cost a average 5% cpu and 3% memory load ...it makes my server always run at 9x% cpu loading...
i'm not sure why the scripts runs out of resources, i guess probably my coding is bad. if anyone here know php+mysql well, please contact me i would like to ask for help !!!

| xanlog 've reopened for 2 days, and it got more than 2500 users and >20000 unique visiters logged, how do you feel about it?
finally i realize how much resources it cost since i set my own server
for it...it really cost quite much ram and cpu, but my server should
able to handle and good enough for future development.....(the server
get 2.8G cpu, 1G ram and 160G hdd, but my computer just got 450 cpu,
384m ram and 30G hdd........... )
i know the countries flags are not wokring now (all broken links!), i
will fix it shortly, dun worry, the flags will appear one day 
also, the timezone problem, i'm not really sure if the timezone setoff works, i'll check it when i have time.
i know many of u got problems about xanlog, i will make a hp for it......when i have time...
