This is in front of a book I'm reading and I thought it was really interesting:

The simplest questions are the most profound.
Where were you born?
Where is your home?
Where are you going?
What are you doing?
Think about these once in awhile, and watch your answers change.

Richard Bach, Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah, 1977

I'm sure if I think back my answers have changed over time.
I'm still trying to figure out where I'm going.

I don't really update on here anymore, but this journal has a lot of history, so I'll keep it going every now and then.

After talking with a good friend, I realized I'm a person who likes to be busy, make goals and enjoys change. I've only lived in the Richmond area for about 3 months, but I'm already thinking about changing schools, moving to another part of the city and even thinking a few years down the road about where I want to be living. That's the one beautiful thing about being single, you only have to worry about yourself when it comes to changing things in life. Of course it may effect some other people, but not in a major way.

I recently got a gym membership because I love to work out and it keeps me busy. When I finally get my knee back into good shape, I want to start training for a half marathon. I made a goal right before I graduated, to train for a half marathon within 2-3 years. Depending on how my knee, I may try to do a race in the Spring or Fall of this coming year.

I don't know if other people think like I do, but my mind is always thinking about different scenarios of how my life will play out. At times, I'm pretty sure I think too much for my own good.

Here's something I'm thinking about...maybe you have some ideas: How do you connect with people your age who aren't christians, when you mostly interact with people at work who are older than you?

I've never been someone who loves to read, until now.

I use to envy people who could read a book all day. The first books I ever enjoyed reading were Harry Potter. I would read them as I was trying to fall asleep at night and I fell in love. Through college, I didn't have much time to read for enjoyment. But for some reason this summer I just can't wait to pick up another book after I finish reading another.

So far this summer I've read: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The Man of My Dreams by Curtis Sittenfield, The Road by Cormac McCarthy, Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See. I'm currently reading Veil of Roses by Laura Fitzgerald and after that I'll be reading Dear John by Nicholas Sparks.

Two of the books that I just couldn't put down were about women in different cultures. Snow Flower and the Secret Fan gives insight into the lives of 2 Chinese women. It gives perspective about 2 girls who are on their journey to be married and how their different levels in society effect their entire lives. The other book, Veil of Roses, I'm still working on, but it's so interesting. It's about a girl from Iran who's parents send her to America. It's so interesting to see how our culture can be so intimidating for a woman who has learned to hide ever essence of herself from society.

I know there are a lot of people in the world who say they just aren't readers, neither was I. But if you find the right kind of book to get you hooked, a whole new world can be opened.
