| This weekend was INCREDIBLE!!
Starting from Nov.12-14, I attended 3rd Annual Youth Leadership Conference on Asian & Pacific Islander Health at Stanford. I meet many awesome people from all over California.
such as---> Kathy, eley, tiffany, and grace.. (you guys
are Fabulous.. Lov ya guyz Mucho). of course.. we took bunch of
PICTURES>>> ( I'll upload the pictures later). I also met many
of MOnTA VISTANIANS (andrew, june.. <<you are too cute>>,
june ho, amanda, solomon, andrew, michael and james..) all of us stayed at SLAC (stanford guest house. I knoe I'm so special ) we were entertained by Stanfrod improvisors (also known as "Sim") they were HILIarious!! I couldn't stop laughing.. haha
we had ice-cream social (but.. those icecreams were melted).
Next
day, on NOV>13 it was VERY exciting DAy.. even though it was Long..
I wasn't bored or tired.. I was very into listening to variety of guest
speakers and presentation about Hepatitis B and LIver Cancer. I really
DID learn so much things about Hepatitus B's tragic effects on the
Asian community. I felt like I should infrom all these to my fellow
community. I was very eager to tak an action to prevent hepatitis B.
After hearing stanford professors, Dr.so, and many other genius guest
speakers, each team had to come up with outreach project. ( about
Hepatitus B awareness to Our COMMUNITY). I was in Team 6 and I took a
part in media and advertisement section in our presentations. our team
had overflowing great ideas to help our community.. so it took awhile
to organize whole bunch of ideas into one big ideas as team. we were
given 4 hours to put everything together and ready to present on sunday
closing conference. After we finished with presentations workshop, we
had DINNER at Stanford Cafeteria~~ haha it was very exciting.. me,
kathy, and eley were Extremely HUNgry so we Ate full two meals.. after
dinner we went back to slac and had free time. during free time many of
the groups were preparing to put all the presentations together.. but
our group didn't get together or anythin.. we just worked on it
individual parts.. but anyhow, instead of working all nite on the
presentations, some of the groups went ROLLER SKATING>. haha it as
HECKA FUNNNNN! I loved it.. and took bunch of pictures.
NExt day.. NOV. 14 (LAST DAY>>> )
it was project PRESENTATION day and closing conference day...
I was sad that we were going home... I will miss my lovely ladies..
anyhow..
our group went seventh and as we listened to the presentations, we
could see many of the group worked really hard for their presentations.
we did too.. but I was really worried that we won't do as well as other
groups.
anyhow.. despite of the lack of communication, hardworking effort, and cooperation, Team 6 (which is USSS)suprprisingly won 1st place. So it is true: work hard, play harder. ( lyke what TIFFANY said... I totally agree)
There are 400 million chronic carriers of Hepatitis B, while there are only 47 million AIDs cases
1/3 of the world's population has ben infected by hepatitis B.
Over 1 million deaths each year due to Hepatitus B= 1-2 deaths per mintues
Out of the 400 million chronic carriers-75% are Asian/ Pacific Islanders.
so get screened now and check with Doctor.. YOu may be Infected with Hepatitis B!

I mISS you lotz Cathy, Tiff, Eley!!! LOV for ya all
