((Hi everyone!

I really apologize for not have logged onto this site in...::Counts:: AGES!

So here's a LONG narrie to make up for it!

Enjoy!

Sorry, once again!

~Lira))

Susan was standing on a stand. Her hair was blowing, following the wind. She was wearing a limp black dress, a black veil covering her hair. Her skin was pale and dirt-stained. Her mouth was set in a firm line, the corners turned up just a little bit.

But her eyes were distant.

Cormac was shouting "SUSAN!! SUSAN!! CAN YOU HEAR ME?!?"

But she couldn't hear her.

A man came up, a man named Brian that Cormac couldn't trust. He wrapped an arm around Susan's shoulder and managed to smile at her kindly. She only looked straight forward, as if she had never seen the encouraging smile.

She rested her head on his shoulder as they began to walk calmly across the stand. He turned, his back to the audience. And Cormac.

He talked to Susan feverishly. Somehow, no matter how the people around him couldn't hear, he could hear Susan's conversation.

"Suzanna, are you sure you want to do this?"

"I'm sure."

"This is your last chance, Suzanna. Please....we can reconcile-"

"I'm ready to die, Brian."

"Are you positive?"

"I won't turn back."

Cormac could hear the despair in both voices.

"Suzanna..."

"Brian, you hurt me beyond means," Susan said. "I trusted you. I bore you a boy. But it all comes down to this..."

Cormac was speechless. He never expected for Susan to have been married....to have a child....at such a young age.

"Suzanna, it's because you defended Ana...please, Suzanna..."

"Ana could have helped me know who I used to be. If I only knew, Brian, then I would've stayed with you..."

"Suzanna, Ana was an adultress..."

"She was never one. Neither was I. You could only swallow up these lies by the priest. Please, Brian...if you had only believed me..."

"The priest is guided by God..."

"Brian, please," Susan could only say gently, and Cormac could see tears trailing down Susan's cheeks. Brian nodded and wrapped his arms around Susan. Susan sobbed freely on his chest and Brian burried his face into her hair, crying freely. Susan shuddered with sobs, and he ran his hands behind her back.

"COME ON!! KILL HER ALREADY!!" a person shouted in the crowd, and they began to chant. But Susan and Brian wouldn't move.

Cormac was going to shout "STOP!" when they pulled away. Brian kissed Susan on her forehead, pressing a hand against her tear-stained cheek.

"I love you," Susan said bravely to Brian, who squeezed her hand back and repeated those same words. A man came up and handed Brian a black scarf secretly. Brian clutched it, his eyes looking angry and sad at the same time.

"HUSH! HUSH!" the towncried called, and the audienced silenced.

"Today, we are here to witness the death of Suzanna Bones, wife of Brian and mother of children Julianna and Kristofer.

Suzanna has been found guilty of adultery and witchcraft.

Suzanna, please kneel down."

Susan nodded, shakingly bending down onto the floor. She placed her hands together, as if she was praying.

Brian came up and removed the veil from her hair, wrapping the scarf around her eyes. He kissed her forehead one last time and backed off, his eyes refusing to leave Susan's bent figure.

A man dressed in black from head to toe came, clutching an ax. Cormac could only watch as Susan whispered a few prayers and the man raised his ax to swing....

--------

"NO!!! NO!!!!" Cormac shouted, twisting in his sleep. "NO!! SUSAN!! NO!!!"

"Cormac!! Wake up!" his mother's urgent voice came, shaking him. He sat up immediately and looked out the window, tears streaming down his cheeks.

"She's dead, Mom," Cormac could only say. "I swear, she's dead."

"Cormac, it was only a nightmare..."

"Mom, trust me," he said. "Dreams don't lie anymore."
