I hate 15 dollar buses.  Or should I say 15 dolla buses.  No, they didn’t love me long time.  So we get to the bus station thing at like 8:45ish and some woman just looks at me and Jen, claps twice and says, “Come hele, come hele” while she picks up two tickets.  Jen pays for me (being the darling that she is) and we get onto the bus… as we notice that this isn’t Fung Wah.  It’s Lucky Star.  And let me tell you about Lucky Star.  Lucky Star is the type of bus service that gets a flat tire an hour and a half from Boston, stops at a rest stop, and instead of fixing the tire, they send another bus to pick us up.  We waited.  For an hour.  And a half.  This was a rest stop.  With plenty of places to get a fucking flat tire fixed.  But of course, good ol’ Lucky Star was too cheap to pay to get it fixed.  The logical thing to do in that situation is to send another bus, from an hour and a half away, to pick up the people on the broken down bus.  Now what are they planning on doing with the other bus, you may ask?  I HAVE NO FUCKING CLUE!!!  THEY CAN’T JUST LEAVE IT THERE, CAN THEY?   DON’T THEY HAVE TO FIX THE FLAT TIRE EVENTUALLY?  ARE THEY GOING TO FUCKING TOW THE SHIT BACK TO BOSTON??? SURELY THAT’S LESS EXPENSIVE AND TIME CONSUMING THAN JUST FUCKING FIXING THE FUCKING FLAT TIRE TO BEGIN WITH AND NOT MAKE US WAIT AN HOUR AND A HALF.  So now I’m sitting on Lucky Star Bus II, wondering if we’ll have to turn around in an hour to bring the other bus a jack.  Or maybe they’ll just forget about that bus and leave it there to rot.  Surely dumping the bus in a river because it has a flat tire is the cheap, economically-sound way of doing things.  I just wish a POWERWOMAN like Oprah was on the bus with us.  The flat would have been fixed within 20 minutes, or else everyone at Lucky Star would have been castrated.  Maybe that’s what we should do.  Castrate that fucking clapping woman that lured us away from Fung Wah.  Oh shit, we can’t do that either.  Looks like I’m just gonna have to sit here like the non-Asian scum I am.

This entry has been brought to you by Jen's suggestion.

Well I'm here at Penn and classes have started... some observations/notes so far:
  • ITALIAN IS SCARY… he only speak Italian and calls on me and just want to say “HUH?!”
  • Econ is a joke so far… we’re learning the same thing as we did on the first day of Linfante’s class.
  • Calculus isn’t fun… we did volume of a curve rotated around an axis on the first day.  Without any prior introduction to derivatives/integrals/anything EASY.
  • My writing class seems fun enough.  There’s only 15 or so of us, the girls are generally cute, and we got out today in a half hour rather than the hour and a half it was supposed to be.
  • Management also seems fun.  My professor is from like London or something, so he has a cool British accent.
  • The Beatles = kickass
  • Everyone here isn’t a nerd.  I was talking to some kid from Boston (a bloody Sawx fan…) and he was like “I’m surprised there aren’t as many kids like your roommate here.”  In case you were wondering, my roommate is kinda weird.
  • My roommate is really nice.  Very respectful, we stay out of each other’s way pretty much, basically as good a roommate relationship as you could get without being good friends.
  • Not having friends sucks ass.  Like… we had a trip to the Philadelphia Art Museum for orientation… the entire place was rented out to the freshman class at Penn.  I don’t know if any of you have been there before, but the building is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been in.  (It’s the place where Rocky ran up the steps).  There was a sick view of Philly, we got to see the sunset and all that jazz, and there was a DJ playing good music in the background.  Except… I didn’t have anyone to be with.  All I could think about was how much fun we would all have there while I frantically searched for friends…
  • Rock climbing = kickass.
  • I think I have a few friends now though… Grant and Blake.  Can’t you tell I’m not in Nutley anymore?
  • I have had barely any interaction with girls yet.  But it hasn’t affected me too badly yet… we’ll see how long that lasts.
  • Stevie Wonder = kickass.
  • I miss you guys!  Hopefully I’ll be fully adjusted and have real friends soon enough, but right now I just want Thanksgiving to come.  Hope y’all are having a good time!

OHGODWEGOTTASEMINAR!! WHATAMIGONNADO!??!?!?!?

Actually, I'm not stressed out.  In the least bit.  Of course this will change in a few hours when I'm struggling to get an outline done and physics shit that is soooo easy to do but takes soooooo fucking long and a government presentation prepared.  But yesterday was a good day.

Track meet: Got to run in a meet (FINALLY) and kicked ass.  Well, not really, as I'm assuming I came in 11th out of 15 runners... but I ran a 55.7 400 (a few seconds off my PR but pretty much what I ran consistently last year).  Which is so great considering in only the past 3+ weeks have I been actually training, and even at practice I do half-assed workouts like "Do the same thing as Kevin and Bryan, but just do every other one" or "Do 400s with them, but stop after 300 meters.  Oh, and do every other one," and "Uh, don't go on a distance run, don't do hills, don't lift... uhhhh... run a mile."  So yeah, I'm really excited about that.

Got home from the track meet early: got to relax for a couple hours by taking a much needed nap.

Seminar meeting: Ralph's pizza, insane laughter, actually got (some) work done.  Then Coldstone (peanut butter attack) and THEN SotE.

I hate having the same entry up for so long.  It's annoying.  So yeah.  Yankees won 5 straight.  Econ is on the horizon.  1984 is really good.  And that's about it.  For now.
