| Farewell for NowSo here's the skinny on what's happening with me... Tomorrow:
- Go to Legacy for the last time as a member of the youth group
- Do last minute things that I forgot to do today
- Go to the airport for my 7:30 flight to Baltimore, MD
The Day After
- Go to Washington Dulles and board a plane that will take me to South Africa.
December 21st 2006
- Land on American soil for the first time in five 1/2 months
Other than that I'm really not to sure what will happen. I'm honestly extremely excited though! I started to pack today and realized that, despite my past daydreams of doubt, I'm truly excited about this! I will honestly miss many people and hope that they won't forget or dismiss the friendship, etc. that we had but realize that I haven't died and that I am coming back!(to prove that they can always check bmuck.wordpress.com to get the update on what's happening with me).
Well I guess this is kind of my endnote for the time being. Have a great finish to the summer, an amazing fall (because that's my favorite season) and a splendid beginning to the O so frosty winter!
~ Here are my recommendation for you: Try new food, do something that won't kill you but scares you, tepee a few people, stay on top of your grades, make sure that your keep your priorities in focus and always make time for your friends and family (those are the people that will always love you despite all the stupid stuff you'll do). brooke.
| So, what have you been up to lately? So here's the skinny on the happenings of my life:
I just got back from camp Cyokamo with my church youth group a couple days ago. I have to say that I had an awesome time and met some amazing people, however it definitely went by too fast! The first night my friend Dave got baptized and each night following there was at least one baptism.... pretty sweet huh!
Yesterday I went to the symphony in the flint hills; not the best idea. while at camp I caught some type of illness or terrible allergies so hanging out in tall grass wasn't so great! I did get hooked up with some generic Benidryl which probably wasn't the best idea either; being that my body does not take lightly to having its sleeping pattern taken over by drugs. Lets just say that the sky was filled with little black dots.
41 days left til South Africa!

"That's what I'm trying to do, to suprise people when they walk in here. Books don't like being arranged in alphabetical order or by subject. Alphabetical order makes for some unfortunate pairings, and doing it by subject ends up being boring. A historical essay doesn't mind being put next to a novel about love... it gives it a chance to relax, to think about something else."

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." - Nelson Mandela (i got this from Tracy...thanks)
~despite tradition and preconceived notions of how life is to go ... i've decided to break that mold. brooke.
