We Were Here

I know its been just forever but I happened upon this and thought it would be fun to keep a journal for myself even if no one will ever read it.
School has been surprisingly tough this year what with all the college stuff as well as the fact that I didn't try for the first month and it really caught up with me. Fast.
A lot about me has changed since I last wrote in this thing and I think for the most part, the change has been good.
Today I tutored at Walker Jones Elementary School, across from Gonzaga. It was tough because most of the kids wanted no part of learning. Otherwise, it was a decent experience. We'll see how it goes as the week progresses.

Much love

alright so here goes my hawaii/california recap. it was so much fun. i even have some cool pictures. this has been eating at me since i got back so here goes:

Friday 6/17
Got up at about 5 and went to the airport. We flew to San Diego where we went to Balboa Park which is some kind of national park where we met some family friends. then we went back to hotel, dropped off our stuff and went out to dinner at this really good mexican restaurant.

Saturday 6/18
Went to this hiking place and this beach in La Jolla where we swam in the ocean. Then we went to Dan and Susanna's wedding. it was a lot of fun.

Sunday 6/19
Started our drive to Santa Barbara and stopped in Brea for breakfast with my Grandpa. When we got to Santa Barbara, we went in my uncle's pool and basically chilled.

Monday 6/20
My dad, my uncle, and me went sea kayaking. Then we went in the pool again and lay around until we went out to dinner at this place across from Santa Barbara City College. it was good but i dont remember what it was called.

Tuesday 6/21
Got up around 4:30 and drove down to LAX. We met most of the cousins, aunts, and uncles at the airport. then we flew to hawaii. when we got to hawaii, we drove to Kapalua where we were staying and wasted time until they would let us in our condos. then we went to the pool and cool stuff like that.

Wednesday 6/22 - Friday 6/24
Went to the beach, cool stuff like that. Not too much stuff though. Did a lot of snokeling as well.

Saturday 6/25
Decided to go on a day trip to Hana. On our way we stopped at all these cool waterfalls and stuff. On our way back, my dad decided we should go down this really cool road to this lookout place. When we got down there, pretty much everyone was asleep except my dad (the driver.)  So my dad and  mom got out to look. While my dad was walking out to look closer he slipped on a rock (the worst part is to get to all the waterfalls we went to earlier we had to climb on really slippery rocks and do some pretty dangerous stuff) and broke his leg in three places. We ended up spending the rest of the day in the hospital until my uncle Charlie and uncle Dave came and got me, annie and joe.

blue pool falls or something like that

these cool hidden falls that no one else was at

me and annie at the extremely crowded blue pool falls. i guess i wasnt having fun

me, annie, and dad swimming at no name falls (hidden one)

annie and joe climbing to no name falls

according to the guide book :a great place to photograph a waterfall." so i did

joe as my dad was falling off to the right out of the frame

Sunday 6/26
Everyone but my dad went on a boat trip to Molokini, a small island with "good" snorkeling (there were easily 2x the people than fish). Then we stopped at Turtle Town on the way back and snorkeled there too. There were some big old turtles.

annie and cousin karly on the boat

joe and cousin kacey on the boat

Monday 6/27
Spent the day doing the same things I had done every other day all trip, we went to the beach, the Ritz, and all this other cool stuff. At night we went to a Luau and it was pretty cool.

Tuesday 6/28
A sad morning but still got to jump. Then we went to the airport. We flew to LAX where we were supposed to have a short layover but instead had about a 2.5 hour one. Then we flew to Dulles.

Wednesday 6/29
Arrived in Dulles and took a taxi home and got home at about 9 o clock. Then i slept from 9:30 to 1. being on hawaiian time is a blower. (6 hours earlier)

A few things I left out are that I spent pretty much every hour in Hawaii with my cousin Zack, there was a "complimentary shuttle" that we took everywhere, we went to the Ritz-Carlton pretty much everyday to use their workout room and steam room. It was great. Also, we found these great rocks we could jump off into the ocean.

and last but certainly not least, the jumping rock:

all-in-all,
an amazing vacation.
thats really all you can say

its been awhile. ive been at the pool pretty much everyday. its tight. i leave for california tommorow. and then after like 4 or 5 days there we fly with pretty much my entire family on my dad's side (he has 8 siblings) to hawaii. its gonna be awesome. but my swim team coach is mad at me and my brother and sister cuz we're leaving right before the first meet and without me there are only three 15-18 boys. which probably will suck for them. anyways today will be a good day with all the packing and chilling and sweet stuff like that.

later

who doesn't love santa barbara? i know i do.
