Little kids are so cute. They are always certain that they are right.

I was walking with my gf back to her house. We stopped at the middle of a sidewalk and kissed goodbye. A bunch of kids, who were making some noises around the corner, approached us in mean time. When I turned around, I saw this cute Russian girl staring at us, from about a foot away. She is about 7 or 8 years old, and have big hazel eyes. She asked me in a sweet voice: "Are you Chinese?"
"Yeh"
"Are you Chinese?", she said to Svetlana.
Feeling a bit awkward, she said: "yeh".I was quite  surprised at answer, and notices a gang of 4-6 small girls are also staring at us from about 15 feet away, closely observing the interaction between their friend and us.
But I didn't get a chance to think about it, because the girl continued to question Svetlana, "Are you Spanish?", "No". "Do you speak Russian?", "No".
The girl turn to me and said: "You are boyfriend and girlfriend?" Not waiting for an answer, she shouted at her friends(a bunch of 3-5 year old's) something in Russian.

I looked at my gf, quite lost. She turned to me, silent. At this time, a big snow ball flew right on her bookbag. I looked back at the gang, thinking that they were just playing snow fight and hit Svetlana by accident.

She said to me let's go, so we walked away. Right when we are about to turn at the corner, a big chunk of ice was hurled at us, missing Svetlans by an inch. Finally, I realized what is going on. Svetlana turned back and warned them, "stop that! go back to your mother". one girl about 5 years old screamed at us, "You have no right to tell us what to do. You should go back to your mother, and show her who you just kissed." Then, she turned her back on us, with the a despising expression on her face, and didn't forget to swing her hip while walking back.

I was literally shocked by this, so I stood there, thinking about what should I do with them. Should I throw ice back at them? Or should I just beat up the adults(might have been their bigger brothers) at the other end of the street? Should I find out where they live and then go beat up their parents? Who are this kids? What are they doing?

Instead, Svetlana pleaded me to go back home in a different way, and not get into any trouble. So I walked her back to her front porch, and then went a different way home. She wouldn't tell me what they said to each other in Russian, knowing it would upset me even more. She told me that this has happened before, not such a big deal. She told me that she is a strong girl.

Well, I am not as strong as she is. My weakness makes me understand why Bin Laden could have blow up the towers.

HOLD UP! Since when did I become the bad guy? I am like a Chinese terrorist now? I must have forgot that we Chinese people suppose to take shit, swallow it, and say that it taste good. We suppose to think it is better to get fucked up than to fuck people.

The world is spinning at 17.5 miles a minute, it could be that I am just a little dizzy.

It is 2:50 am, and the only effect of monetary expansion seem to be the closing of my eyelids.

Economics really isn't fun. The professor just draw graphs and arrows on the board during every lecture. Early in the semester, there was only 1 or 2 arrows indicate the causal relationship between variables. Now there are generally 6 or more. Sure, we all gonna remember that Y increases cause N to increase, the increase in N cause u to decrease, the decrease in u increases W, P increases as the result of the increase in W, that in turn result in an increase in Pe, which increases pi. Right.

I am sure after this class, so called macroeconomics analysis, I still wouldn't be able to understand what is going on in the economy. The driving forces in an economy(unknown to me) are sure as hell not the principles we learn in class. O.K. Economists can make good predictions sometimes. Here is the question for you, if they know the market so well, why aren't the richest people in the world economists?

Done ranting, gotta go back to the midterm.

I wish he makes the final take home as well.

It is been a while since the last post.

I anticipate to write a little more often in the future, to share thoughts with friends. I haven't really talk to a lot of you since graduation. It seems like time progresses in a linear fashion (you physics majors out there might disagree), while life certainly does not. Maybe that is reason why there is always a mildly upseting feeling whenever I think about the friends who faded away from my life. It is as if they have never existed.

What is funny though is that nowadays friends don't completely "fade away". Old friends might have left for college across the Atlantic, but still keep their old im, email address, xanga and such. Then, why do I feel distant from them?

Perhaps as much as the internet has to offer, there is a big part that is missing, that is a friend's physical presence. You can call me silly in thinking that, afterall, people do get married on the internet. Well, I am a little stubborn.

Anyhow, I miss you guys, that is why I am back.
