jean loves puzzle

this week, we revisited putting together the noah puzzle. now she can tell if the pieces can align and fit. she also matches colors and graphics. even though the puzzle is not new to her, this is really showing some progress in her ability to image, and to re align the sequence.
sometimes she gets angry for being unable to fit the pieces. we just have to distrct her so that she doesn't get frustrated. she just loves to do it.

it 's been a long time, hi everyone!

work occupies a lot of me recently. but the satisfaction give me some comfort in return. Jean is growing, tak a look at her ballet dance class pictures:

she follows very well, just that she loves to get in front of the teacher to get her attention. it seems like she established some kind of way to build up a relationship with the teacher. well, at the same time, she is learning how to comply with the discipline in class

she is growing, as compare the profile pic and the 2 pictures above, i just cannot believe it...........

a school bus driver used a 13 passenger van, in plsce of his schoool bus to drive the children home, because the schoolbus was taken to the shop to be fixed. a horrible accident occurred when an MTA bus rammed into the rear ot the side, rendering 1 little girl seriously injured.

there gotta be a reason why some rules and regulations are there. in this case, a school bus has what it takes to protect the kids from being injured in an accident.......so why take it so lightly, the driver knew it, yet , he chose to ignore it," probably it is not gonna be me........" he thought.

there is a price to pay every time we take chance. if its not us to pay, its the others who paid for us.

i never thought i could get to this furious.....

we wer driving home, Joti said, the tuesday before 12/22/07, i should be rehearsing with the band. so, may be she can go to the Christmas party of the hosp network with co workers....... right at the moment, i did not feel anything, OK, i thought, if you want to go to the party, let's work it out, may be it's possible. few minutes later as we talked on, i felt sick, my heart raced and pounding, i went furious, thinking that she is going to the party with the coworkers, and she is going to have a great time and it's Ok that she will go without me.

it's been a long time since i last felt so angry about anything. i was really feeling sick at that moment.

well , ladies who are reading, i know you are getting judgemental already......

"why not? can we have a great time when you are doing something you wanna do........" you must be saying,"alex you are so out and uptight!"

well in fact, the reason why i got so upset i guess was, when it comes to schedule and time use, we always talk, and to be honest, i am careless , she reminds me alot and she fixes things up for me, so , i am grateful and i have got into the habit of consulting before deciding. if she says no, i won't say yes. cos' she always ends up right. and we put our mutual willingness to comply to the arrangement first. this time, it seems to me, going to party, which is a happy thing to her and to me, and i will be willing to work it out,i was not valued appropriately. or simply say, i am jealous and i was put at second.

later she admits, she really does not want to go without me.she was hoping things will work out infavor of both. she probably was taking her chance in saying it. she say she was surprised how i reacted.

man, being angry is very painful, i really don't want another "test" like this.....

a week ago, we found out that Jean started to follow on the recording to sing ABCDEFG.....HIJKLMNOP....she doesn't really sing out every word, but does manage to at least get the 1 st and the last alphabet of each phrase at the right time. when prompted, she dosen't complete all the time, she is a little shy, but she could finish when she thought she was not noticed.....and everytime she does it, she got to grab a cylindrical object to pretend she is holding a microphone.

2 days ago, she started telling "stories".

Joti tells her story to catch her attention to try to put her to sleep. the 3 pigs and the big bad wolf is her favorite. recently when she was prompted to tell us a story, she went like:

豬豬.......uk uk (屋屋).........foooooooo(吹......)..........走呀走呀走呀走..........快d快d快d............

she really amazes us everyday.

9/22 work shop, not a crowded one, but was a great one,
there were some quality time the writers spent together, writers will agree, we rarely got this kind of critque and discussion about what we wrote. i want to kep it coming. given that it's a great meeting of the writers, i think it will be even better if other writers would be there to share the good time. tone was eager join us but with prior engagement. and i am sure others would like to come, but just could not make it because of other reason.
i am thinking, if we need some more contacts among the writers. i am sure this kind of interaction will be good to facilitate writing.

Three Quarters - A show about a man in a city

I still haven’t found what I am looking for…..

Before the people farewell me, I set up to say goodbye to my friends and the city.

This is a story about the experience of contact, happening in the years when the world is flat as the people think. Indy Lee, a visiting theatre artist from Hong Kong. In between learning and studying American theatre and culture, he has experienced the cultural and language difference in New York City and other cities in the US in the last ten months.

One day, he came up an idea to develop a performance which is about the experience of frustration, confusion, excitement and disappointment staying in a foreign land. Before the people farewell him, he would like to set up an occasion to say goodbye to my friends and the city.

三個骨 - 有關一個人在一個城市的演出

來，去也。只是我們碰不上。

人家未有歡送我的準備，我先為自己安排的告別。

這個是有關接觸的經歷，發生在人人以為世界是平的年頭。Indy Lee, 以香港劇場導演的身份，來到美國遊學。他認識美國劇場之餘，在紐約及美國其他地方的十個月，體驗到人和事, 文化和語言上的差異。

突然一天，他心血來潮，想發展一個有關自己在異地經歷混亂、張狂、無奈、興奮和失望的演出。人家未有歡送他的準備，他先為自己安排的告別。

Indy, Chun Leung Lee is an actor, teaching artist, producer and director in Hong Kong. He trained as a stage director in the School of Drama at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. In the past, he worked as an independent actor and director in over 60 productions for different professional companies. Indy has been performing and conducting performance workshop in Canada and Asian countries including India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Thailand, China(Beijing and Shanghai), Taiwan, Korea and Macau.

In 2004, he studied Master in Applied Theatre in Central School of Speech and Drama in London. In 2005, Indy joined Theatre Ensemble (Hong Kong). As a director and project curator, he established a young theatre program – PIPPOP and directed U & I.

Indy received a fellowship of Asian Cultural Council Lee Hysan Foundation. In 2006-07, he observed theatre arts, attended Theatre-in-Education conference, participated workshop and also joined the Directors Lab 2007 of Lincoln Center Theater working with American and International theatre directors.

Three Quarters is his first solo performance and his debut in New York Theatre scene.

到紐約生活很久了﹐專程跑到街上去看煙花﹐可是第一次。跟一家人﹐公子﹐銀行家﹐莎朗﹐莎莉﹐８點幾去到ＧＡＮＴＲＹ　ＰＡＲＫ外圍。１０個ＢＬＯＣＫＳ以外,都已給封鎖﹐還開始下雨。我們為了看煙花﹐不惜走險把車停泊在地車路軌旁邊一塊空地上。跟銀行家等人會合﹐再走了近二十分鐘﹐穿街過巷才到河邊古舊“汽水廣告牌”前。薈演早已開始了幾分鐘﹐我得穿過人群﹐才得見那給射往半空的煙花。
