Big Changes!!!

Hi Everyone,

For all of you who are not aware, Chase and I are moving to CINCINNATI on June 20th. Chase will be working with Cincinnati Bell Technology and i will be working with University of Cincinnati.

This is important for us because it will enable us to....hopefully...pursue what we feel God has called us to, which includes a greater abilitiy to be missional in a secular environment as well as be in a position where i can stay home from work (or maybe run my own daycare) and take care of foster kids, which we both feel really called to.

hi everyone! i use facebook so much more than i use xanga anymore...and frankly i'm on facebook all the time because we use it so much at work. but seeing as not all of you facebook, i thought i'd post this lovely pic.

And just in case any of you haven't met chase, this is the two of us at Charlanne's rehearsal dinner...

Time: 10:09 PM

Place: middle of a cornfield on I-80 between illnois and iowa

Setting: massive rain. the kind that you can't drive more than 40 mph in because the spray makes it impossible to see.

Concentrating on the road. the rain is so loud that i can't hear anything. the rain is so nasty that i can't even look at anything besides the road for a second.

including my gas gage. or the little Ding Ding Ding sound it makes to warn you you're about to run out.

My record of driving for 8 years without ever running out of gas: destroyed.

thankfully, AIG has roadside assistance. but nothing is anywhere close to the middle of nowhere in iowa. thus, by 11:45, they arrived wiht $4 in gas for my thirsty tank. Jumped my battery. freezing and soaking wet, feeling like a complete moron, i was safe on my way.

God sure keeps his eye on me. I'd almost walked out of my house without affixing the Emergency Roadside assistance key tag to my key ring, just because i was in a hurry...but God kind of made me .

i've officially reached the point of travel season this year where i Really just want to come home. I feel like it's going to be such a long week, and i honestly can't believe that it's only Monday. Dearest Winona (and mostly the people that live there including Chase)...i misseth thee.

In high school, i was very into music.

But my senior year, i realized that so much of my meager income was going to music...and that maybe that wasn't the best way to be spending my money--something i didn't really need.

Seriously, at the moment i thought this was a wise thing. When you have friends who can't afford to go to summer camp, when you should be saving for college, when you have to pay auto insurance and 3 CDs could easily cost you $40, i just realized that my music addiction was an immature way to get rid of all my cash.So i decided not to buy any for at least a year.

which turned into like...many years. Just check all the music that's in the viser above my steering wheel. The Supertones first CD, and maybe strikeback...is almost as recent as it gets. Now, i've Listened, borrowed, and enjoyed a lot of music much more recently, Derek Webb (no relation) being one of my favs. But not actually gone out and bought more than 1 or 2 a CDs for myself in yeeaarrs.

But today my brother Nathaniel and i were jamming to some of our oldschool favs, and i was struck at how i used to speak so clearly through music. I suprised at the rich, nostalgic sweetness that came over me. those songs were my language. Maybe if I would let it...music still would be.

I'm not saying i'm going to drop tons of money updating the missing 5 or so years in my music library. And i to have a budget and really, really want to get my car paid off.

But maybe there's more than one kind of good investment.

Ruth and Donny...your posts are always awesome! but i always wonder what RUTH is thinking...donny do you ever share the computer? anyway, hi to both of you, but this shoutout goes personally to Ruth. Eat some good sushi over there in Korea...

Other notes...i survived...and really enjoyed, my crazy whilrwind trip to ohio this weekend for Emily Karhan's wedding. i'm (clearly ) the one on the right.
