hm....13 more days until a full 6 months since i've last looked at xanga.  maybe i should have waited....

as always when typing, all the stuff i've wanted to share crawls away and hides from me in my brain.

never one to play MMO's, i'm currently hooked on Granado Espada or Sword of the New World as it will be packaged in the US this summer.

  • hey, i have a xanga

hello xanga. i've been busy and i've forgotten about you. which is kinda sad since i surf the net so much.  well, heres an update:

school has kept me busy.  It sucks having a professor thats far far away.  You really have to be very motivated and not get distracted.  Which is very hard for me since I'm so easily distracted.  Home is the biggest distraction of all with sickness coming in second.  Its been a turbulent year at home since both my grandfathers went into the hospital.  One pulled through, the other goes into and out of the hospital.  Just recently, my maternal grandfather entered the ER and stopped breathing.  With all that comes my parents fretting and not working as they travel back and forth to Taiwan.  That leaves me with responsibilities at home.  Did I mention I've been really sick?

Onto other news.  Since earlier this year, my computer and my brothers computer have both been going on the fritz.  My brothers finally decided to be completely corrupt and affect my computer as well.  Since I like things nice and neat and above all, working.  This situation bugged me to no end.  This basically resulted in me fighting my lab mate at school for the one PC to do work.  He doesnt have internet at home.  By November, I was finally fed up and decided to build a new computer.  I waited until black friday and now I'm in debt.  I couldn't pass up on the deals so I bought a laptop too.  So after 3 agonizing weeks of building my desktop computer, its finished.  Couple that with several term paper assingments and the flu really, really sucks.

"3 weeks?!?" you say? yes, 3 weeks.  Initially, I did all the research on making sure the components I got would work. Well, technically they should.  Something was wrong though.  The first several times, there just was no POST.  After several trips to the store and technical help (which was no help since they said I already did everything), I figured it out with my latest motherboard exchange.  A piece on my case was shorting out the motherboards.  Anyways, desktop specs:
Core 2 Duo e6400, Abit AP9pro, 2 gigs DDR2-667 patriot ram, 7900GS vid card (can you believe for only $130, no rebate needed).
Side note: I can't believe my antec power supply which I bought earlier this year was also a problem.  Thats the 2nd antec psu that I've had a problem with.  Ridiculous since antec is suppose to be "reliable."

laptop specs: dual core amd, 1 gig ram, 100 gb sata HD, 6200 nvidia mobile gpu. 12.1inch screen at 4 lbs.  All for just $599+tax.  This deal was just too damn good.

  • hello xanga.
its been a while.  i have not been neglecting you, its just that i don't think i have anything really interesting or informative to share.  my preference for absorption of data instead of spitting info out coupled with my lack of decent writing skills really dissuades me from typing an entry.
but today, i just had to say: what an amazing laker game. lakers won over the suns to make it a 3-1 series lead. this was one of those games that give me the notion that games can be won in the last few seconds even when your several points down. 0.4 seconds kept flashing in my head. just an exciting game to watch.

on a side note,  i've been glued to the tv for more than a day now since i realized i have cable television.  i have watched more shows than i can count on my fingers and thus, i have taken in so much useless information. truly, what an expenditure of several hours of my life.

Man Hits His Own Car Then Sues Himself
    Mar 16 7:17 AM US/Eastern

    LODI, Calif.

When a dump truck backed into Curtis Gokey's car, he decided to sue the city for damages. Only thing is, he was the one driving the dump truck. But that minor detail didn't stop Gokey, a Lodi city employee, from filing a $3,600 claim for the December accident, even after admitting the crash was his fault.

After the city denied that claim because Gokey was, in essence, suing himself, he and his wife, Rhonda, decided to file a new claim under her name.

City Attorney Steve Schwabauer said this one also lacks merit because Rhonda Gokey can't sue her own husband.

"You can sue your spouse for divorce, but you can't sue your spouse for negligence," Schwabauer said. "They're a married couple under California law. They're one entity. It's damage to community property."

But Rhonda Gokey insisted she has "the right to sue the city because a city's vehicle damaged my private vehicle."

In fact, her claim, currently pending at Lodi City Hall, is for an even larger amount _ $4,800.

"I'm not as nice as my husband is," she said.
