| I've decided to make swimming my primary work out. Why? I hate running. Lifting weights is cool, but I love water. So does my bonsai tree, and that reminds me that I need to moisturize it right now. Okay, anyways my swimming sessions have been successful so far. Yesterday I told myself I was going to swim 20 laps. That really sucked because I wanted to quit after the 8th lap, but I managed to hang on. 20 laps = 1000 yards = 10 football fields. However I did see this really big man who was practicing some martial arts, and for a moment when I was doing a back stroke, I thought he would come out of nowhere and shove me underwater.
Today I definitely did not want to do it again, but I did. I hopped into the pool and warmed up a bit. Then suddenly I heard this really loud splash. It was that really big man again, but this time he was at the opposite end of the pool staring at me. Lucky for me I wore goggles, so if he tried to do something sneaky underwater, I could catch him. I started myself off with a free style for my first lap, and while swimming I could hear and see him swimming next to me. Dangit. Until I finally decided to speak up and he turned out to be a cool guy. Big man though, someone you don't want to piss off in your lifetime.

| I vaguely remember what happened on Sunday. So lets forget about Sunday move on to Monday.
Today was terrible by my own choice. I made it terrible because I went to the gym. Just telling myself that I probably should go to the gym was the first mistake. Second mistake was thinking I could last an hour. Third; I quit after an hour. Now I'm sore. Now I'm complaining, but you know what? I don't care.

| I am an extremely proud garderner as of right now. This morning....your afternoon, I walked outside to water my bonsai tree. Well I've been giving my bonsai tree some acidic miracle grow. Bonsai trees, or in general conifers, love acid; so I bought some acidic fertilizer. I also read that bonsai trees growing points are the beginning of Spring till early Autumn, and much to my surprise, I noticed my bonsai tree is growing after a weeks worth of miracle grow! Oddly enough, it's a Miracle!
Since my car is in the shop, I like to surrender myself to the couch, but I did finally get the chance to rent "Angela's Ashes". There is something about reading a book and then watching a movie that I take a lot of pride in. It is as if you began as an artist and began painting the story out in your mind as you read the book. The narrow cobblestone streets, the rainy and gloomy weather, the filth stench of lavatories and the thoughts going through the chararcter's mind travel through the brush and glided across the canvas. You have developed your own movie within you, and watching the movie fills yourself with pride because not even Hollywood could destroy your imagination.

| The summer orientation is complete although the final moments of my
time in Austin were quite stressful. I had to fix my schedule not once,
not twice but actually three times. Schedules are by far one of the
most abstract puzzles I have ever dealt with. You're given days and
hours and you have to move the pieces around till you finally achieve
perfection. First time I finished my schedule, it took me 2 1/2 hours.
Later on someone told me I was missing an important class. 45 minutes
later, I once again achieved perfection. Not until today when I asked
for my Chemistry Waiver and realized I can only have this specific
class, I had to achieve perfection but this time in 30 minutes. Notice
a pattern? Practice makes perfection come by quicker.
Before I
go, I would like to say that I saw ninjas last night running around the
campus with swords drawn. It definitely will go down in my memory basis of my first weird experience from Austin. Orientation Advisors were completely confused
because it had nothing to do with the program, but they came up with a
fabulous excuse and said, "Welcome to Austin." | | |
