these are the guys i live with
"Midshipmen and cadets remain stronger and more aggressive than their male counterparts at civilian schools. They eagerly play sports such as rugby, boxing, karate, lacrosse, and fieldball. They drive fast cars, usually sports cars. They play hard. They drink hard. They are physical, often abusive among each other. They are not  to prove their manhood: they are celebrating their masculinity. They are competitive, often vulgar, and tough, and every citizen who may someday send a friend or relative into war should rejoice, because combat is competitive, vulgar, and tough, and they will be leading men in combat."

i love them

wow, i know im a loser b\c i never update this, but i always mean to and then get distracted, things get a little busy around here. they act like they own us or something. but i havent really done anythign interesting just homework, practice, running that kinda stuff. i miss you all and i'll see you soon. today's 'thought' is fromt eh guest professor i had in western civ yesterday (my normal prof is BEYOND ridiculous but thats another story). we were talking about augastine and just war and how cna you be a warrior and a person of god and it was very intersting.

according to the bible you must love your neighbor as yourself. right. so that means you cannot hate your enemies. you must love your enemies. 'love the sinner hate the sin' i guess i had just never thought about the religious implications of what i was doing in that way, but it was very interesting. i challenge everyone to try and love their enemies even just for a day. its not an easy thing to do, but it makes you think about things

have a good one

well you all have a great day and here is today's thought
THE FINAL INSPECTION

The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, you soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"

The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.

But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand.

There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

"Step forward now, you soldier,
You've borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

Wow, time really does fly around here. Life has been getting more and more interesting. It's no where near as miserable as it was for a few days, but it's not great. there are some serious adjustments that are being made, but other than that, its all good. Tons of hw, actual hard classes and such. this growing up thing just keeps happening

In other news, for those of you who were wondering the b\f (as my roomates have affectionatly termed him) is doing well. I have to tell my dad today that he exists, for some reason i'm not looking forward to that, but oh well. My roomates are doing fairly well, some minor dramas, but thats to be expected around here.

I miss you all and you should all im me or call me sometime
