I'm spending this afternoon catching up from the busy week and preparing for another busy week.

The weekend was a good time with some unexpectedness thrown in.  Poker party at Trev's on Friday night.  Worked out well because I was off on Friday afternoon - Rog is on vacation so I got to have his morning shift.  Rob and Karen were in town and Brad & Steph, John, J.D., Megan, and me all played.  Drank some delicious Crown and Coke.  Got 4th place in the poker game which means I lost my $20.  On Saturday Trevor and I made a quick trip to Colorado Springs.  Naomi was admitted to Memorial hospital on Friday night and had her gallbladder out on Saturday evening.  They are supposed to be coming home today.  But my mom was up there without any clothes, her cell phone, and her medicine.  So we went up there yesterday afternoon.  I also got to see Sean, Emily, & Jack because they got there right after we did.  I got to play with a baby so I was happy.

This next week is the Bent County Fair so I'm planning on spectating at the hog show on Tuesday.  Then Mitch asked me to be the ring steward for the lamb show on Wednesday.  I don't think we're going to be making it to the rodeo at all though.

August should fly by because I have so many plans.  Next weekend Megan and I are headed to Amarillo to get some of her stuff.  Then the next weekend I'll be in Perry for Julie's baby shower (less than 2 months now!).  Blaine is getting married the next weekend.  Then I'm going to the lamb show at State Fair the next Saturday and possibly staying for the hog show on Sunday.  Then it'll be Labor Day -- when we have definite plans to see Dierks and Ragweed at Red Rocks on Friday night, and possible plans to see the Eli Young Band in Lubbock on Saturday night, and I think that fantasy football draft will be on Sunday evening in Wiley.  It's going to be a ton of fun though.

I've also recently become addicted to Facebook and you can thank Scrabble for that.  I forget how much I love that game.

The 4th of July was good.  Didn't do a whole lot during the day.  Megan and I cooked french toast for breakfast.  We did some scrapbooking.  Then we went out to John and Stephanie's.  We cooked out and lit some fireworks.  My mom and Naomi were there as well as Jeremy and his 4 kids.  It was a nice time.  Megan went to the lake for a little while.  Then came back to pick me up and we headed back to town.

Saturday morning I went to work for an hour and counted for them.  Helping them survive the day-after-a-holiday business with no extra staff.  Megan and I went to lunch at Spicy Thai.  Then she dropped me off at my mom's on her way to Rocky Ford.  My mom and I watched the race & ate some yummy cheese and lunch meat.

This morning we went to church.  Lots of people there even though Trev was gone - so that was good.  My mom and Naomi and I went to Truck to eat lunch.  After that they dropped me off at my house.  I took a couple hour nap.  Then woke up to eat dinner, do laundry, and work on my scrapbook again.

Absolutely plan-less for this entire week and weekend.  Sounds good to me.

Megan moved in with me last Tuesday.  Just for a little while until she can find a suitable rental house.  And it looks like that could be happening pretty soon.  My previous landlord, Brad, has a house that a girl moved out of today.  He's going to do some work on it and it should be available in the next couple of weeks.  Megan's going to take a look at it on Tuesday or Wednesday.  It's on Mayhew so we'd be pretty close neighbors.

We've been having a good time this last week though.  Tuesday night we moved her stuff in.  Not everything she owns because most of her stuff is still at her house in Texas.  Just her clothes and scrapbooking stuff mainly.  The few furnitury things she has here went to live at Trevor's for a while.  Her mom and Rob bought us Thai that night -- and not what I usually have either.  It was sesame chicken and it was good.

Wednesday night I went to Bri and Brad's for a cookout.  The occasion was that Jenna and Kevin are moving to Baton Rouge.  Kevin was already down there so it was a Last Opportunity to See Jenna for A While Party.  It was really fun with lots of people I like.  Too bad I couldn't hang with everyone else since I had to work the next day.  There are a few perks that they all enjoy since they are teachers.

Thursday night my mom came over for dinner.  We mad kabobs and shrimp on the grill.  So a small dinner party at my house.

Didn't do anything on Friday night.  Read a lot.  During the day on Friday was pretty good though.  I got to wear jeans to work which makes my day.  Employee appreciation day so we got to wear our favorite sports team shirt to work.  Plus they bought us pizza in the afternoon.

Saturday I went and hung out with the Ebrights in the afternoon.  I made it back to town to eat dinner with Megan at Spicy Thai and then head to the dirt track for some racing.  There was a special series in town - so there were a lot of modifieds there.  It was really good.  And really dirty.

Today consisted of church, lunch at my mom's, watching some racing, and the season (series?) finale of ER.  Then Megan and I headed back to town.  Did laundry.  And the highlight of the evening was playing Set, on the patio, while having a beer.  Good times.

Short work week.  And I'm looking forward to it.  3.5 days and it's a holiday!!

Back from vacationing and now am anticipating July 4th and a three day weekend.

Last Saturday I got to be in charge of our annual livestock jackpot in Las Animas.  It went off without any major problems.  Had some decent numbers: about 17 steers, 50 hogs, 30 lambs, and 30 goats.  As soon as it was over headed to my mom's to shower and get ready for Kim's wedding.  Stopped by Don and Bridget's on my way to McClave for a quick beer.  The wedding was very weddingish.  Had to kill some time before the reception though.  So I went to Brad and Steph's to get the jackpot deposit ready and have some more beers.  Made it to the reception.  Hung out with the Ebrights a lot.  As well as with Kinley - she had came down to help with the jackpot so we played at the reception a lot, and i gave her a ride back to Brad and Steph's.  The plan is for me to go to Greeley in the next couple of weeks so we can hang out.  And of course Megan and I  were having a grand time.  Got back to Lamar sometime after midnight. Woke up on Sunday morning, finished packing, and was at Don and Bridget's by 8:30.  We headed to Colorado Springs to do some shopping before our flight.  My main goal was some new sunglasses.  And that turned out great.  Met Brad, Steph, Pat, & Robin at the airport around 2.  And we were off.  Slept for the majority of a pretty rough flight.

Arrived in Vegas Sunday night.  Got checked in at the Golden Nugget.  Ate at the Carson Street Cafe at out hotel.  Then we experienced Fremont street.  Did some gambling - I played blackjack.  Finally ended up at Gold Diggers before calling it a night.

Ate breakfast on Monday morning at Dunkin' Donuts with Steph.  Then everyone met up at Claude's Bar in the Golden Nugget.  Where we watched the US Open.  Played video blackjack and poker.  And entertained Tom the bartender.  In the afternoon decided to go to the pool.  It has a very fun slide.  And in the middle of the pool is a tank that has sharks and fish in it.  You can swim right up to the glass.  Plus the water slide goes through the middle of the shark tank.  Had to leave the pool in time to meet everyone for dinner at Tony Roma's.  Had some great $8.99 prime rib.  Then we went and saw "Defending the Caveman".  Hilarious show.  Ended up at Binion's that night.  Steph and I watched Bridget play craps for a while before joining in ourselves.

Learned a lot playing craps on Monday night.  But Steph and I decided that we still needed to take free lessons at the Nugget on Tuesday morning.  While we were doing that, Bridget went and bought tickets to go see Mystere by Cirque du Soleil that night.  After we bought the discounted tickets we had to go to the box office to actually get our seats.  That meant a quick trip to the strip, but not before breakfast at Dunkin' Donuts.  We left Pat and Robin to play blackjack and the rest of us headed to Treasure Island on the Deuce.  Got the real tickets and headed back downtown.  Bridget, Steph and I then went to The Buffet at the Nugget for lunch.  Then hit up the pool one last time.  Everyone met at Grotto for dinner.  Awesome Italian food.  We then took the Deuce to the strip.  Got to Treasure Island in time to see the "Sirens of TI".  I was the only one who hadn't seen it.  Because it was closed for renovations when I was there in December.  Let me tell you though, it is definitely not a family show.  So I thought it was insane the number of small children who were there with their parents.  When we finally got into TI the line to get into the theater was outrageous.  And the doors hadn't even opened yet.  Since everyone has reserved seats we decided standing in line was a waste of time.  So we went to Kahunaville before the show started.  Amazing bar tenders and free shots -- what more could you want.  Mystere was amazing.  I now want to go see O the next time I'm in Vegas.  Went back to Kahunaville after the show for another drink.  Plus they have dueling pianos so that's very fun.  Everyone headed back to Fremont street, where we split up to go gamble.  Don, Bridget, and I went and played craps at the Las Vegas Club.  Watched a guy walk up to our tablet, throw down $1600, play for 10-15 minutes, and walk away with only a couple hundred left.  It makes me nervous to be the shooter when someone is betting lots of money.  He wasn't there for long though so it turned out okay.

Wednesday I got up and ate breakfast at guess where - Dunkin' Donuts.  Then we all checked out of the hotel and caught the shuttle to the airport.  Slept the majority of another pretty rough flight.  Got into Colorado Springs.  Don headed to Alamosa and the rest of us back home.  Stopped for a quick bite at Del Taco in Pueblo.  I had never eaten there before but it was pretty good.

The two days I had to work this week were pretty uneventful.  Megan came over Thursday night and we made burritos for dinner.  It's looking like she might be temporarily moving in with me next week.

No big plans for this weekend.  I'll have to see what materializes.

A reason I love my Safeway:  Jim, our ICC Clerk (who is also in charge of the magazines), brings me a copy of Runner's World as soon as he gets it.  Before he even puts any on the rack.  I like nice coworkers.
